After reading that article, here are my observations:

- I've worn a zip up hoodie to a club. It was under a sport coat. Hard to pull off, but can be done and I got a lot of compliments on it.

- Agreed on bedazzles, Ed Hardy, etc. You don't always need clothes to stick out. I dress simpler than many though.

- Jeans that are TOO whitewashed are bad. The jeans that are in that picture gallery as a Don't are not too light to be pulled off. They may have a little too much going on though as far as tear.

- Agree with straight leg comments. Work great. I still don't understand how some guys get their feet through the bottom of those skinny jeans.

- "A simple button down shirt, sleeves rolled up to right below the elbow, dark wash straight-leg jeans, and a pair of nice shoes is what every man needs." You can't really go wrong with this advice, and if you're not comfortable in your own style just follow this, but it's not a be all end all.

- Shoes depend on your outfit. You can get away with relaxed shoes with the right outfit (Chuck's/Diesel) as many of us here do. I've worn both of those to clubs in many big cities including Vegas. I agree a good pair of Steve Madden modern looking dress shoes are great. The example given in that slideshow sure are simple and always work, but they belong with the Docker's crowd. The loafers are a much better look and option.

- Talk about too much going on; the vest in that slideshow is horrid. Sorry to those here who own it, but come on. The jeans are too much but that vest isn'y gaudy? Ok, maybe it's just me.

Hope this helps, or confuses you even more. Last note, that Express button down in that slideshow is a good look and it just motivated me to go shopping tonight.

Yes and I also agree about the vest...I don't see it happening.

They are generally long sleeved collared shirts with some artsy tatoo like designs both on the front and back.

For example these: http://www.toxicwasteclothing.com/longsleeve.htm

Also i recommend not getting named brand because someone else might own it Jeans on the other hand is worth spending the extra bucks, and so are loafers as well because you will wear them with those shirts almost every night.

I go for the classic with some differences...but I'm not a flashy guy so i don't like to wear flashy clothes. I'm simple and I keep it simple.

I don't think I could pull off one those shirts. I'm more of a Kenneth Cole slim fit guy.

@ Kdiamond I really like the Nordstroms shirt, that's more my style.

I'm a big fan of 7 Diamonds, especially their 2010 line. A lot of nice looking shirts.
