Hi everyone, Toronto Canada girl here. I'm going to vegas with a gf july 16-20 (thurs-monday) - a LITTLE excited..a LITTLE....we're planning on doing a lot of partying, hanging out by the pool and basically watching our IQs drop considerably. I'm hovering over the venetian hotel/flight package on expedia, but prices are so great everywhere i can't decide where to stay! AND i've been to the THEHotel twice in the past, although really nice, pool rocks.. i'd like to go somewhere different. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the board. I've stayed at the venetian a couple of times. it's very nice and the location is key. The only problem i have with it is the fact that it's for older people and families. other than than that its cool. it does have tao and tao beach so that does make up for it.

First off welcome!!! Second off I stayed at Encore on my last trip and it was awesome! The rooms are just incredible and their huge! They also have XS and then there's Tryst at Wynn both the newest clubs and very popular with the forum members.

Hey Nassau happy 300th post! haha

Hey thanks Cisco that one just slipped by me..i made a big deal about the first 200..lol..I was a big fan of the venetian but now i am a supporter of the palms properties (palms, palms place).

Yes I 2nd the palms properties! They are a place where the party goes on 24hrs!!! It is off of the strip but definately worth it. I stayed in one of the mini suites like 3 years ago and it was pretty awesome!

I would also look into Plante Hollywood too since it's location is right in the middle!

thanks nassau and cisco... i read really poor review on palms hotel on tripadvisor....but palms place then ? AND encore...i kept reading how smokey it was there...obviously i have to take it all with a grain of salt with these reviews but it's helped me out in the past. now i'm even more confused...

I was there last night, and don't recall it being smokey. But I smoke, when I drink, so I'm not sure if I would have noticed.

Well I stayed at Encore in the begining of May and it was pretty awesome! Their rooms were very nicely sized and if you get on a higher floor the view is amazing but ask for pool view. It wasn't smokey at all when I was there. The only reason I smelled like smoke the next day was cause I played blackjack/craps next to people smoking and well there's nothing you can really do about that. The crwod there was kinda a mix but with a few more older. I have pics on myspace if you wanna check some out, its myspace.com/cisco419 under random pics

I looked at PH Cisco and apparently the pool sucks...but the price is really good..i'm not too concerned with budget right now..but anyone have comments on some of the other hotels on the strip? mgm? caesars? so why is encore better than wynn? what was the crowd like ? Thanks guys! :)

well the reason i was saying PH was due to its location. the rooms at encore are bigger than wynn they are both just as nice but encore is pretty much the newest hotel made. caesar's I've heard good and bad, never stayed there but there's a thread on it in the hotel section. oh yeah the crowd at encore was fairly young to slightly older but not too old. i think there is a thread on its pool scene too

I've heard Encore is awesome! It's better than wynn (so I've heard) b/c the rooms are newer/nicer, it's a cool looking casino and you have easy access to the wynn

First off, welcome! I will be out in Vegas the very same weekend as well as a lot of other forum members.

As far as where to stay I haven't stayed at all or even most of these places, but maybe I can give you some things to think about.

To start out, are you getting a regular room or suite? If hosting after hours or the like obviously a suite is better, but only you know your plans. Once you know that, you can get a little more in-depth. Suites are normally nice at most places on the strip. If it's just a standard room it's a little different.

Also, how much time do you really plan on spending in your room? I don't plan on much. If you don't either, then maybe you should plan your hotel around your activities. I've never personally worn high heels, but i'd imagine they are a bitch over long distances. Unless you've got someone to piggy back you around (which I may or may not be willing to do depending on the level of my alcohol consumption on any given day) this could be one of the biggest factors for you. Pools are a big deal to think about with this as well (but I see you're already considering that).

Hope this helps!

can this be construed as an offer of services and solicitations?

haha no. it's a POSSIBLE (see: inebriation level) offer and I would't consider it a service. usually a service is something desirable or with purpose. hanging on for dear life to me as I stumble down the strip hardly constitutes either of those things.

Well it a bit north on the strip, right across from the Fashio Mall but it's not really that bad of a location. It is pretty much the last hotel/casino before Riviera and Circus Circus but it is definately worth it in opinion! Plus they have an awesome nightlife scene there and it's right next door to Palazzo and Venetian

I would NOT do hard rock, its an ok place but you will spend more time outside of HR and its kind of a pain in the ass. Palms is a great spot easier to get to strip (and cheaper cause you can take the shuttle from gold coast across street) alot more goin on and like ive said before I dont think you can go wrong with encore, its in the perfect part of the strip great clubs in xs and tryst next door, close to tao and its new so youll have great restaurants stores etc.

I don't know why i'm not sold on the Palms. I keep reading that the casino sucks at Palms and the food area looks like a mall food court?? that's kind of lame isn't it?! Hard Rock is out for sure. Done. BUT....my final 3 options..Encore/Venetian/PH. I do like that those two clubs are in Encore though NYC....where have you stayed before?

Oh just pick one already. :) J/K

Where do you plan on going while you're there?

This is really good advice. You can always shuttle/cab to Palms if you REALLY want to hit those clubs (maybe do the N9ne bracelet one night) but this gives you Tryst one night and XS another without having to go very far.

Well having stayed at Palms, even though it was years ago, and having stayed at Encore also I would say Encore is much much nicer and everything inside of Encore/Wynn is elegant! Their food court consist of some really good restaurants, even though I didn't really eat there. Palms is loud, fun, crazy party atmosphere but like you said the food court is kinda like a mall except for the nice restaurants they have. You will find a lot of people in our age group there and the rooms are actually pretty nice, but the rooms at Encore are just way more elegant! That and their like 700sq.ft. at Encore.

palms place...the rooms are dope, skytube connects you to the palms. you cant go wrong. i would show you what the studio looks like, but for some reason when i uploaded it to my myspace page, i only got the audio to transfer..back to the drawing board.

If you need discount codes for any of those hotels let me know. I've stayed at Palms Place and the Encore. While the Palms Place was very nice I prefer staying at the Encore. The mall and food court is directly across the street and its wonderful to leave the clubs at the Wynn/Encore and just go upstairs to your room. Going back and forth from the strip is a pain from the Palms. If PH and the Encore are anywhere close in price its a no brainer to pick the Encore.

To add to that, PH has Prive which some people from this site, including myself, have had some trouble getting in there.

youre gonna have a great time whether at encore or palms, you def cant go wrong with either place, although id do palms. The food court does remind you of a mall especially with the movie theatre right next to it, but theres alot of other places to eat you dont have to go to foodcourt
