View Full Version : My trip review June 5-9th!
brazeneye 06-10-2009, 09:41 AM Review – June 5th – 9th.. pictures to be posted soon (my friends took most of the good pictures)
Friday: Landed – flight was pretty bumpy. Went straight to the hotel and unpacked stuff. Then headed out on the strip. Had our first drink and lunch on the outdoor patio at the market between MGM and Planet Hollywood. We walked all the way down to Fashion Show Mall (beside Treasure Island) first (of course) to check out all the shops. It took us about 3 hours to walk down there with all the stops for booze and ice cream and randoms stopping us and chatting (I put lipstick on some random guy.. I was helping my friend touch up her makeup, and this guy came up to us and said he wanted red lipstick..). Took a cab back from the mall to MGM and had a nap. Got ready, and then had appetizers at the Rainforest Café bar. The bartenders there were awesome!! When we paid our bill, I had about 1/3 of my drink left and the bartender asked me if I wanted a cup for my drink (I was about to just shoot it down), and I told him that would probably be a lot prettier than me trying to slam it back. So he got a HUGE Styrofoam cup (probably about 20oz) and filled it up with vodka and soda for me. “That’s pretty!”.
Took a cab over to Tryst around 10:30. HUGE line up. See a really short petite girl with a bunch of papers in her hands and we just tell her were on the Clubzone guestlist (we are not on her list, but she doesn’t acknowledge that we’re not on the list). She pulls us out of the line, comps our cover and we’re in! I almost have a tumble down the stairs into Tryst in my really high heels (ladies be careful up in Tryst!). We get some drinks and sit on a bench near the dance floor, checking out the scene and the gorgeous waterfall. Crowd there is more to our liking, mix of people our age, older. Everyone is dressed up, all the girls really went out to get ready there. We dance for an hour, have another drink and decide it’s time to move on!
Get out into the Wynn lobby and an older man who works for the hotel dressed in a suit (probably in his late 60’s? Adorable!) opens the rope for us and lets us out. We have the sweetest interaction.. Me: ‘You ready for us, handsome?’ Him: ‘Nobody said it better than Toby Keith; I am more ready not than I’ll ever be.’ Got into the cab, my friend still had her drink in the glass from Tryst (hahaha!).
Take a cab back to MGM. Go back to our room, I grab my Styrofoam drink, she refills her Tryst glass from my drink, and we go walking out to NYNY. Couple of really young guys (I swear they were only like 16? But they said they were 21) beg us to come with them to Rok. Get out front, some kid that’s 16 with crazy long hippy hair is dancing as if he’s in a trance outside, really strange... I laugh and ask the bouncer if we can get in. My friend and I are wearing skate shoes and flip flops but he doesn’t seem to have problem with that. Rok is pretty small, but good if you’re in a “I don’t care where we go” sort of attitude, which we were. And dance away with our little buddies. Leave around 2, and have baked pretzels, and off to bed!
TO BE CONTINUED..!
brazeneye 06-10-2009, 09:42 AM I know this is very “Dear Diary..” but I typed this out from my journal!

We had the "Deluxe Room", which was a pretty decent size. Bathroom was bigger than most hotels I have been in, big enough that we pulled out sofa chair into the bathroom!

haha... so are you depressed yet? I was until I got my time off request back... Approved!!!
brazeneye 06-10-2009, 04:40 PM Saturday: Got up, went to the Harley Davidson Cafe for breakfast out on the patio. My friend almost got in a fight with some older lady who just started randomly swearing at her. Walked down to Caesars Palace. Dreamed in all the shops, and went to Tiffany's. My friend decided she wanted to get something there, and tried on a couple pieces of jewelry. When it came time to pay.. she didn't have her money/cards.. so I bought her jewelry for her.... Hopefully she pays me back!!
Went to the Paris and bought those porcelain dome drinks, went into the Paris. I was winning like crazy on the penny machines (I put in a dollar and left with $20), and got some free drinks from the casino staff. Went back to our hotel room for our daily nap. Got ready and then went out to Grand Wok @ the MGM for some sushi. I was really really good! Finished up there and cabbed down to Rain. Chapp/Colton were going to meet us up there, but I got there at 11 and they weren't going to be there until 1AM. It was a shitshow mad house! I couldn't get anyone's attention, flash enough money or anything to get inside, but I did get a glowstick from sort sort of mime-y alien outside. My friend gave up and went over to the Food Court to get a coffee.
Officially things turned bad for us then. She wrote off going out at night for the rest of the trip and decided that she hates clubs. I was so crabby that she wanted to leave because I was having fun fucking around in the casino and she wanted to go to bed... I couldn't leave her, and I couldn't hang out by myself for 2 hours in my dress, so we went to bed at 12:30 :( :(
brazeneye 06-10-2009, 04:44 PM haha... so are you depressed yet? I was until I got my time off request back... Approved!!!
Not depressed yet, because I may be coming back in September!!
Cisco419 06-10-2009, 04:49 PM If you go in Sept try an make it out for Labor day weekend! I hear it gets pretty crazy!!!
TO BE CONTINUED..!
haha - nice!

Yikes. I'm sorry to hear. :(
brazeneye 06-10-2009, 04:55 PM Sunday: Got up and put on our bikinis and went down to the MGM pool. We had breakfast in the little cafe just inside the entrance way. Lots of little birds hanging out, trying to steal our crumbs. Went out to the pool area, and found a spot right by the Wet Republic entrance (you can watch the lazy river from here, washroom and bar are close, and you can listen to the same music that's being played inside of Wet).
Ordered ourselves a bucket of Bud Light (5 beers for $25, not too shabby!), and hung out by the pool. We had to hunt down an umbrella for shade, as there are not a whole lot out there at all, you really have to fight for them or come early, and we were lucky. Hung out there all day, made some friends, and just drank and ate until the afternoon. Nap time.
We went over to NYNY for dinner because we had tickets for Zumanity. Ate at the Gonzales Margarita restaurant, which was terrible. My chicken quesadilla tasted like it was filled with canned tuna.. not nice. We had Red Rockets (Red Bull margarita) but all you could taste was red bull and salt, not a lot or any booze in there at all. Saw Zumanity, which was awesome! It was like a drag show/cirque/peep show all in one. It was really awesome, and I was crying laughing through the whole thing.
Afterwards, I am trying once again to get my friend to go out. She's not feeling it and wants to go to bed.. but I try to keep her going by walking laps around the casino, trying to give her a motivational talk about how we're in Vegas and we're missing out on the real fun. No dice. AGAIN, I'm back in bed at 12:30. This time, I'm wearing my dress, full makeup and hair done, ready to roll. I will not give up!
I text my friends (I have about 10 other people who are here in Vegas too, but we are all travelling around seperately, and the girl I'm with doesn't know these people or have any interest in hanging out with them) to see what they're up to, and they're at Body English. They're too drunk and hammered for me to get any sort of indication from them that I can come meet them or where exactly they are so I wait.... I get a text at 6AM from them to come join them but I've already fallen asleep too deep. I was so sad.. broken.. mad..! another night wasted!
orgunslinger 06-10-2009, 04:56 PM So in retrospect would you have gotten the all access wristbands for the palms for 60 bucks?
Based on your report I'm going to order 5 of them for this weekend. BTW, your trip report is starting to depress me a little. Guys are definitely a little different than females, I'm pretty sure I would have said goodnight to my buddy and ventured out, but I can see there would be a safety issue there for you. Too bad, sorry you didn't get to go out as much as you'd hoped.
brazeneye 06-10-2009, 04:59 PM So in retrospect would you have gotten the all access wristbands for the palms for 60 bucks?
Based on your report I'm going to order 5 of them for this weekend.
I am not sure if it was just a crazy night or if that's the regular deal. My group of 10 friends went there Friday night with wristbands, but I think they had to wait in line.. I'll have to ask her how it went, and I'll let you know.
brazeneye 06-10-2009, 05:32 PM Monday: I wake up early. I'm just fuming. I'm being short with my friend and not very talkative. Today I decide, I'm getting drunk this morning. Fuck you! I'm in Vegas! Today was the day where we have reservations at Wet Republic for the day bed. I'm too mad to want to sit with her on a king size-d bed by the pool and spend $150 of my money to feed her drinks. I'm just so bitter and crabby, but I'm still trying to be nice. We are on vacation.
So we go back to the MGM pool, which I did have fun at, and I think I really had a better time that day at MGM pool than I would have at Wet. We catch the same spot as we did the day before with our umbrella. We have Starbucks for breakfast (coffee, muffin, parfait). We get to the pool and I get one of those yard long drinks. I'm on a mission today, so it started early. I get stopped by a girl, and my funky bathing suit is on the cover of Sports Illustrated she tells me! I feel pretty sweet now. Instead of sitting in the sun all day, I hop into the lazy river and start paddling around. Make some friends with some dudes from Chicago. They've all got innertubes and big ass jugs of god knows what in Fat Tuesday containers. They're offering it to everyone. I spin around with them for a couple hours, and they buy me an innertube and we mess around in the pool all day playing bumper cars and being drunk. It was a lot of fun.
Get ready to have dinner again, head over to the Italian restaurant in the MGM. We have pasta and champagne. I start texting my friends to see what they're doing that night, and I tell my friend that I am leaving her tonight and going to go hang out with them. She seems super pissed and she wants to go fuck around on the Strip.. but I've wasted two nights with her, so that's just not an option for me again. I get a hold of their group, and they're headed to the NY NY to ride the roller coaster. So I tell them I'll be there, and I run over. My friend in our room just keeps saying "lame sauce" over and over, but I don't care! I'm freeeeeee! Meet my friends at the rollercoaster. I'm SUPER scared of heights more than anything else, but before I know it, I'm sitting in the ride, strapped in. We come up to the first big hill and I really think this is the end for me.. hahahaha. I had to close my eyes through the whole ride. Everyone thought it was hilarious!
We jump out of NYNY and start walking towards a convience store. The girls have mickeys of vodka and want "chase' for it, so we grab orange juice. Five of us girls pile into a cab to go over to Jet, where they got some sort of pass to get in (I tell them there is no way that's getting us out of the line). But we go there anyways, and our guy friend books it down the strip to meet up at the Mirage. We get to Jet. I swear I see Timberland, or at least someone that looks just like them. The group tosses me infront of them as bouncer bait, and we all get in without waiting in line. We get into Jet and I immediately decide that I don't like it. The dance floor is so small for the amount of people on it, and I don't like the crowd that's there. Two of the girls go off to find guys with tables to feed us drinks. I do not like this idea. I tell the girl I'm closest with in the group that we should go to Prive (Chapp/Colton are there, and I really do not want to be at Jet with those other girls).
So the three of us hop in a cab and go off to Planet Hollywood where Prive is. Chapp is the first to meet us at the top of the elevator. I'm so happy to finally do what I want and not have to worry about someone being tired or having to go to bed early. We go over to their little corner and say hi to Colton, who pours us each a drink! I've pretty much over the moon. They offer us the couch and my feet are killing me, so I was happy to sit :) Tell Colton we really appreciate the drinks.. and my friends and I start dancing away. It starts to die down around 2:30ish, and Chapp hooks us up over at Drais for afterhours because he has to go. We hang out a little longer in the corner table, and leave after they start to shut the place down. We walk out of Prive and some guy starts chasing after us. One of the guys from Drais telling us to come.. and we tell him we're already headed there! Gives me his card just incase we have any troubles (Brandon Wallis).
After hours at Drais. Brandon met us up there and we just walked right in. My two ladyfriends stayed downstairs and danced with some older gentlemen.. I wasn’t feeling it and the guys down there kinda creeped me out. Went up stairs because I wasn’t getting any reception on my phone. I got a foot massage from a bouncer near the entrance. He pulled a bar stool from the bar and I sat with him at the door and he rubbed my feet! I had a lot of fun hanging out with them and they told me I would have no problems next time I came back to Vegas. Their sign outside said that they are open Wednesday – Sunday, but because of XS, they are open when they are to catch the people who want to party after they close. Threw myself into a cab around 5AM. Cabbie gave me a short tour of the strip, since we were able to drive down it because there wasn’t any traffic. Got to my hotel, and realized I didn’t have my room card (I had everything else in my bag… but my room card), so I had to bang on my room door after 5AM for my roomie to let me in.

This trip review seems to be really depressing, but the daytime was fun, but the nights sucked, except for my first and last night. My other friends told me of all the fun they had and I knew I was so so jipt.
IRockNvegas 06-10-2009, 06:03 PM dont feel bad about the trip BE, we have all made the mistake of going with the wrong team mate. lesson learned. im sure you friend was all pumped up to about the nightlife in vegas and she totally party fouled. at least you put a little icing on the trip on the last night.

I'm just a little extra bummed because my other friends were there as well, doing everything right. They had about 4 hours of sleep each night, and they partied with these dudes all weekend! (Jealous, I saw the photos!) http://www.vegasnews.com/8366/wes-brown-rampage-jackson-dj-am-and-dj-jazzy-jeff-at-the-palms.html
Good to hear you tried to make the best of it, brazen. As long as you still got that desire to make it back to Vegas, it's all good. I agree - total party foul on your friend.

Yeah, I may be back in September! Or if not, the friends and I who went out on the last night are talking about another trip!
vegaspoke 06-10-2009, 06:24 PM Sorry about the wasted nights. Even my worst nights in Vegas are good tho. Where does Prive rank among the other clubs to you?

Oh god, I couldn't tell you. I didn't do a walk around and I was pretty toasted when I got there. We were off in a little corner dancing and hanging out, so I really didn't get a chance to see everything. Anywhere is good when you're drunk.. haha.
I really liked Tryst, it was nice, but it seemed a little slower, almost like a lounge.
IRockNvegas 06-10-2009, 06:36 PM im really surprised the night life portion of your tripped turned out to be a bust because you have spent so much time on this site and preparing every step of the way. thats what friends can do though, when your feet are tired and you finally hit the bed and its so cozy then its pretty easy to just chill, but you have to tell yourself like you did on your last day, that your in vegas and you can do this (lay in bed at 12:30 on a sat night) at home.

Oh.. I was pretty choked. I gave her the speech on Sunday night because I was mad mad mad. "Why do you not want to go out to nightclubs? I did all this research, I am so excited, and now you don't want to go? :( ". After that I had it. I should have just gone out both nights, but I couldn't if things weren't secure, because it probably wasn't a good idea for me to go out on my own.
tschwicht 06-10-2009, 06:50 PM I feel for you brazeneye. I have a few friends that I don't know how much they are going to party while out there in July, but the funny thing is that's fine with me.
Normally I end up getting lost from my friends even if they are out. They call me "nomad" half the time because i'll end up on a different side of Chicago than them without knowing what happened.
Sometimes you just have to go, but good on you for being safe! Your next trip will just be that much better.
brazeneye 06-10-2009, 07:04 PM Tuesday: Hungover. My first hangover in Vegas.. was actually disappointed that on the last night my first and only hangover happened then. Had Eggs Benedict at the Rainforest Café @ MGM (not good). If you’re ever hung over.. do not come here. I wanted to punch out the stuffed tiger that was roaring/moving/meowing inside the restaurant. I just wanted quiet, and this was not the place to get it.
Checked out and settled our bill. Turns out my Dad made some arrangements and all our food/drinks were comped. Kicking myself now for not going to Wet Republic and booking a cabana, ahaha.
Did our last minute shopping. Grabbed the bf a giant Keystone. Went off to the airport and back to Calgary!
dogeaters 06-10-2009, 08:32 PM Well im excited for you that you got to meet and party with Jack and Chapp... and at least now you know that "miss friend i dont want to go out" wont be invited next time! :)

Oh yeah for sure! I'll have to do some extra pre-screening for my friends that come with me next time!
Wow. I'm shocked. So sorry to hear about the negatives. Im headed out. Lucky, I brought a friend that will probably out last me :)

My boyfriend’s sister. I have to be nice.
Although you should see how pissed my bf is. He’s the one who coughed up the dough to send me to Vegas, and she was the one that didn’t let me have fun. Now we’re saving up for me to do a ‘do-over’. I think he's going to ream her out big time for that. My bf fully expected me to flirt, have fun and make an ass of myself in Vegas, and she stopped me from doing it most of my trip :(

Hahahaha, you can’t tell me I don’t know how to have a good time ;)
partyinvegas25 06-11-2009, 10:49 AM Interesting TR...sorry your friend was such a lame ass!
I know that feeling! You really can't bring everyone to Vegas, some people just can't handle it.
I mean 1230? WTF? That's like a grade school curfew-you were so right to ditch her the last night!
It sounds like you had a great time the last day and night tho. Next time, go with ppl who want to party, you def need to prescreen. Some ppl get all pumped up but then they get all insecure/tired/whatever.
The friend I went with was totally like clubs, fun, drinking b/f we went, but then we get there and it's oh, I'm tired or hungry AT THE WORST possible moments. Oh, yeah, I forgot, I go to vegas to sit in a hotel room. I don't give a shit if it's a 10 room suite, I'm there to see the city not see it from afar!
Hoody 06-11-2009, 11:03 AM When I was over last year there was always someone who didn't want to go out on one of the nights (except me), but luckily there was enough of us there for there always to be someone to go out with.
nyc2vegas 06-11-2009, 11:11 AM I cant believe that there are that many people that go to vegas and dont want to party for 72 hrs straight!
I wish I could party for 72 hours straight!! I love to do it up at night, but I'm a baby about needing to sleep in the next day haha. I just can't go again the next night on only 3-4 hours of sleep!! Maybe I just need more practice though?? Haha
yo vanilla 06-11-2009, 11:18 AM I see your point of view, but since no one else wants to be the devil's advocate I will. I can see your friend's POV too; I would guess she wasn't that dazzled the first night, then with the pain in the ass madhouse outside the club the second night I'd probably have said f this noise, I'm outta here as well. You know not everyone is gung-ho over hanging out in overcrowded silver-shirt nightclubs four nights in a row and there is plenty of fun to be had elsewhere :)
I'm sorry to hear you did not get things resolved so you could both have made the best of the remaining trip. Did she offer any alternative plans or compromises? I'd hate to think she just clammed up and moped all weekend without offering another agenda.
ocTICK 06-11-2009, 11:21 AM That depresses me. A 12:30 AM bedtime not passed out drunk I believe is against LV law.
I think she was your BF's saboteur. Make sure you didn't have "too much" fun. How the hell can you have what happens, stays in Vegas if you have a spy.
Heck, I would have drove in just to hang out, so you wouldn't be alone, could go out and party. Did that sound creepy?

masterdeviance 06-11-2009, 11:32 AM LOL if you have to ask if it sounded creepy, it probably did.
just breaking balls here oc :p
nyc2vegas 06-11-2009, 11:32 AM I see your point of view, but since no one else wants to be the devil's advocate I will.
I agree BUT there are a boatload of places in vegas that are not clubby and/or crowded or a pain in the ass, like you said did she offer compromises? I can think of a million great spots that you can have a GREAT time in.....palms center bar, nine steakhouse, mist in TI, bar at times square nyny, any bar at the wynn, revolution at mirage, hard rock casino bar and the list goes on and on......I guess you just need to really tailor your trip to your company, if im going w/ someone i Know is not a club person ill just do the club thing one night and then the other nights do what I just mentioned.....I just dont think that anyone should be in bed at 1230 in vegas and if you are you better be up and at em at 6am in the poker room and well rested :) but to be honest it seemd like the friend didnt have the money or want to spend it... maybe brazen can chime in on this

Well...that's the thing we need to know, did she offer any other plans?
I'm sorry but 1230 am is unacceptable, unless you are okay with the other person ditching you and it sounds like she wasn't. For instance, on my bachelorette, one of my friends didn't want to go out with us one night. Did she complain? No...then she went on to party hard the rest of the trip. It's like don't ruin someone else's fun...I can see not wanting to be in overcrowded clubs esp if you are having trouble getting in, that's never fun. But, it sounds like she was just done for the night, it's like, you could go to a cool bar or something...even back at the MGM there are plenty of fun little circle bars to hang out in or gamble of course...
partyinvegas25 06-11-2009, 11:34 AM I think we posted at the same time NYC!
masterdeviance 06-11-2009, 11:38 AM lost most of my sympathy for the friend when she kept saying "lamesauce" over and over when brazeneye was going out without her. she sounds kinda passive aggressive
nyc2vegas 06-11-2009, 11:38 AM That depresses me.
Did that sound creepy?
ive never seen you being interviewed by chris hansen on dateline have I??? hahahaha
chris: so what brings you here tonight?
Octick: ahhhhh well I just wanted to come over and hang out
chris: is that it? just hang out? then why does the transcript read "you cant tell anyone, but can I %^$#@#&*() ^&&%$#$ you?"
Octick: yeah well her friend went to bed and I didnt want her to be alone
:D :D :D sorry I couldnt resist!!!!
brazeneye 06-11-2009, 12:25 PM lost most of my sympathy for the friend when she kept saying "lamesauce" over and over when brazeneye was going out without her. she sounds kinda passive aggressive
That was totally it! If you want to confront me about it or come up with something.. LET'S GO. But she said nothing and just washed her face and changed into pajamas. I would have totally been up for something un-clubby if she had made the suggestion. But there were none. That's why I busted out with my other friends because there was no suggestion.
yo vanilla 06-11-2009, 12:31 PM Well...that's the thing we need to know, did she offer any other plans?

well i'm just saying we're making pretty strong judgements based on one point of view. not to take any credibility away from our own forum participant brazeneye, but for all we know the friend is on her own message board posting "GOSH she wouldn't stop arguing about those stupid night clubs, and by the end of the night I was so sick of arguing I just wanted to go to bed"
just saying :)

Of course! I totally understand that I could be the jerk in this situation. But we did talk, it's not like we fought through the whole trip. We both agreed the third day that we should have come here with different people. She said she would have rather gone to Mexico, hung out at the beach/pool all day, eat and and lounge/sleep. I just wanted to get out there and have fun.

Your right...I wasn't there, I was totally basing it on what brazen said and basing on many trips to vegas with a variety of ppl over the last few years.
And, here's the thing, yeah she might have been over nightclubs, that's fine, but no suggestions elsewhere. I CANNOT STAND ppl who constantly complain-this place sucks, blah blah blah-but do not come up w another place to go. I am never hard headed about stuff, but I have a friend or two who will always complain and never bring about an alternative. Or, you'll suggest a myriad of alts and they still bitch.
Sounds like a nightmare to me...I did that once, never again!
yo vanilla 06-11-2009, 01:01 PM I've been there too and I don't like a Negative Nancy either, lol. I think it sounds like your friend/future sister in law should have made the best of it and missed out on some fun. Just watch, someday she's going to have a few kids and realize that no matter what you do on vacation, even if it's not your favorite thing to do, you are on vacation and it will be awesome.

Yeah, if my mind thinks it is creepy, it was. :D
I guess I just need any excuse to hit the road to Las Vegas.
She said she would have rather gone to Mexico, hung out at the beach/pool all day, eat and and lounge/sleep.
Weak. In Vegas?
nassau 06-11-2009, 01:59 PM Braz, you did the best you could and had some good experiences. everything happens for a reason...like you said there will be other trips..
Vegas is not for everyone. You live and learn. I think your next trip to vegas will be the best ever.

I agree :) She is more the Mexico type, meanwhile I want to go, even sitting by the pool drove me a little bananas. I needed to move, swim..
yo vanilla 06-11-2009, 03:00 PM you don't have to tell me about sitting still. i'm going nuts trapped in my cubicle. when i get on vacation next week i probably won't stop moving even in my sleep

Me too. I am stuck in my cube! I think I'm going through culture shock...
brazeneye 06-11-2009, 03:50 PM So in retrospect would you have gotten the all access wristbands for the palms for 60 bucks?
Based on your report I'm going to order 5 of them for this weekend. BTW, your trip report is starting to depress me a little. Guys are definitely a little different than females, I'm pretty sure I would have said goodnight to my buddy and ventured out, but I can see there would be a safety issue there for you. Too bad, sorry you didn't get to go out as much as you'd hoped.
Talked to my friend about the wristbands..
"Nope, we just walked right in there. We didn’t like Moon at all though and left after about 20 minutes and then wandered down into Rain and the rest is history! Some of the gals went to Ghostbar later that evening too and said it was good."

This is jc night life forum my man we eat sleep and drink this $hit!!!!!
Her friend suxnvegas! Period......well at least when it gets dark.
Party is correct , all about the pre-screen! LOL
Ps vanilla you know I'm bustin your sack right???
Hahaha
She obviously didn't understand how important this trip was for BE and she must be a wuss cause the second and third night she was allready spent. Did she grab the nintendo controller and play mario kart too?
yo vanilla 06-11-2009, 07:45 PM Ps vanilla you know I'm bustin your sack right???

hey any time a guy decides to shout with the devil he should be prepared for some ball bustin :D
i totally agree, it sounds like the other girl should have made a better effort to have fun no matter what. but how do you know that's the case unless you put it out there, right?
(p.s. don't tell me you're too young to know what yo vanilla means?? :D )
IRockNvegas 06-11-2009, 07:53 PM hmmmm I think we are the same age.....
I know the facts
she went to bed at 12:30 on a friday and saturday night in vegas.
case closed. lol

Yes...that is an important fact. Even if she was like, Brazen shut the hell up about the nightclubs, why did she go to bed at 1230 two nights in a row?
Anyway...I am only 5 weeks (you too Irock) from our trip to Vegas and can't wait!!!!!
orgunslinger 06-11-2009, 11:07 PM I can't even go to bed at 12:30 the night BEFORE my trip, that's just insane. Vegas has so much energy that it takes me hours to wind down from it.
Honestly though, we all know which of our friends power through a night of being tired by pounding a redbull, or in the old days, a sparks, just to keep the party rollin. Then there are the others that would rather stay in and have a few beers and watch TV.
Both types can be great friends, but one of them gets invited to Vegas and the other gets invited to, I dunno, maybe Napa.
I've called out our group on our plans and we've already identified one who is hesitant to go out more than 1 night. Consequently we've told him prior to the trip that he's gotta go along to get along. That way the expectations are already in place and everyone knows what to expect. If they wanna bail, fine, but they won't be surprised when the rest of us don't.
ashroid 06-11-2009, 11:45 PM trip to Las Vegas reminds me of many of the times I've been to Las Vegas.
As a guy, it's a little tougher to roll hard in Las Vegas if you don't have money. Friends from Las Vegas have asked me how do I do bottle service each time I go down. I just tell them that a.) I don't go clubbing much in my hometown and b.) I save a lot of money for Las Vegas :)
The problem is a lot of the guys that I can go with to Las Vegas cannot handle the amount of alcohol that gets passed in our bodies. But, the friends that want to go to Las Vegas can handle it.
So, therein lies the problem. A problem that many of Las Vegas fetishists have. You have friends that want to party, but can't afford it and then you have friends that can afford it, but don't want to party.
But one thing I noticed about Brazeneye's trip review. Her and her boyfriend's sister did acknowledge that they should have gone with different people. They realised (albeit a bit late) that they had two different agendas for Las Vegas. It's unfortunate that that wasn't fully establishe before going down there or was it?
I hope you have a better time next time. Just think...you learned something from it: don't go with your boyfriend's sister next time! :p
radi0 06-12-2009, 06:36 AM It sounds like you had a good time! Although there were a few disappointments....it's good you had some positives to come out of it!
What was the best/most memorable part of your trip?

- Pretty much everything that happened on my last day (Monday) -> The rollercoaster in my dress, high heels and my hair had all been done. Got on the ride turned the corner and I saw the big climb on the NYNY rollercoaster, and I just panicked. . I had to close my eyes through the whole ride (scared of heights), and my friends were all watching me and laughing. I don't know if I could do it again, but it was good to get off, or at least near the end it was fun, hahahahaha.
radi0 06-12-2009, 07:21 AM You'd probably die if you went to Cedar Point then. :P
That rollercoaster at NYNY didn't look impressive at all. :)
mario2k4 06-12-2009, 07:47 AM Before inviting a friend or relative or SO to Las Vegas, They must pass the following test!
1. Go 24 hours without sleep, and not get "grumpy" or snappy.
2. Able to stand up for 8 hours without sitting, tripping, or passing out.
3. Weight /2 = oz of alcohol consumption and still be awake and able to communicate verbally in an understandable language.
4. rule 1 exception = cat naps of 30 mins or less don't count, but must be done in Hotel room or car, preferably when not driving.
5. Have sufficient funds to cover rule 3 x days of stay.
6. Watch the movie "Hangover" and not say, "That's gross how can anybody do that!" (This rule is most important, and probably is the true test of finding the "Las Vegas Wimp-out! )
Feel free to add / use this test! Most of all remember "What hapens In Vegas, Stays in Vegas, or until the pictures come out on the Web!"

I totally fail #3. All I had Monday night was champagne, one drink at Jet and whatever I had at Prive, and I was pretty toast (in a good way).
What happens in Vegas.... gets posted on Facebook!!!
mario2k4 06-12-2009, 09:09 AM ok .. i think i messed up on the formula on # 3 :-) Should be:
Weight /20 = number of drinks , otherwise I'd be a wimp :-)
280lbs /2 =140 drinks OMG LMAO.. Now 14 .. I know I've done that in 1 night and still recited "How much wood, could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood!" x3 times :)
rampage23 06-12-2009, 09:14 AM This TR is awesome, but scares the hell out of me. I'm heading out in August with a couple people that I could see being EXACTLY like BE's friend.
Time to start coming up with some contingency plans. :D
nassau 06-12-2009, 01:51 PM Cut your losses. If you have not partied hard with your friends in your home town, vegas is not the place for a trial run. there is to many good parties at stake to pass on.. trial runs are a must for those you are not familiar with. keep in mind RUNS not run....
dkooys 06-12-2009, 02:38 PM That sucks. I had the same problem with the chicks i went with in april. They didnt want to go to the clubs or the pools. Its a shame cuz its such a waste. Thanks for the review and pics.

Looks like I won't even make it to Vegas in June. I guess I will just have to unleash on 6th street in Austin instead.

I actually joined up to display my disgust, anger at your friend for fu*&ing up for your holiday but I got preoccupied. Anyway if that happened to me id be pretty damn pissed off.. Perhaps next time go for a bit longer too!
dirtydeeds 06-15-2009, 05:07 PM hah awesome thread! i'm headed to LV 6/19 for a bachelor party and will definitely have a thorough talk with the one broke-ass friend and his dislike of clubs!

In a big group I don't think you'll have any problems :) You can always leave behind the non-partying stragglers. Good luck!! :)
The Hypnotoad 06-16-2009, 12:43 AM Well, something similar happened to me... only it was much worse, as I was tripping in Europe!! 4 guys total, 2 of them didn't want to do anything at night, and worse, they wanted to get up everyday at like 7 or 8, to go see all the museums, exhibits, etc. I'm all for culture (in fact, I love it), but I believe that the nightlife was part of the experience that we had to live, and we went out like only 4 times in a 3 week period. We ended up splitting up a couple nights and the other guy and me went bar-hopping those times... but upon returning to Mexico, I remember being very bitter at these friends because, even though the trip was a lot o fun, it could have been better!!
Luckily, one those guys made it up by becoming a party animal on the following trip, hehe, so we forgave him.
brazeneye 06-16-2009, 09:15 PM Yeah, I think I would be pretty upset if that happened to me over a vacation in Europe. Vegas is a couple hundred dollars for me to fly. Europe would be a couple thousand.
Next time I'll know not to have one other person in my party.

Definetely know who to invite based on venue (i.e. vegas or europe).
In all truth an honesty, Europe is super cheap right now...we flew non-stop from Chicago to Dublin over Memorial Day weekend for $389 per ticket on American. My family flew from Denver to Dublin (w/layover in Chicago to meet up with us) for $467 per ticket. I would say this summer is a great time to travel abroad (other than exchange rates) if you have the time and money.
7 days in dublin, hotel, flight, and food/booze cost us about $1,100/person while Vegas will inevitably be twice as expensive
nassau 06-17-2009, 10:14 AM Yeah I agree with you xtrmski03. Traveling overseas right now is very reasonable. I found a 7 day staying at 4 star hotel and flight package in Dubai for $1200. I am looking at going either the first or second week in august. the funny thing is the same trip in september is about $3500.
