View Full Version : Great Sushi
brazeneye 06-10-2009, 06:34 AM I can probably say that I know what good sushi is (I grew up in Chinatown in Vancouver, BC), and we really liked the Grand Wok at MGM. Really great quality fish, and our meal only costed us $60 between the two of us for about 4 rolls and soup. We sat at the bar and talked with the sushi chef.. really great fun too!
yo vanilla 06-10-2009, 10:28 AM good to know, thanks. how did the rest of the menu look? i'll be looking for some good sushi out there next week, but since my wife just got pregnant i don't think she'll stomach it.
nyc2vegas 06-10-2009, 10:54 AM like ive mentioned before little buddha at palms and social house at TI are incredible
brazeneye 06-10-2009, 12:32 PM Grand Woks sushi menu is really small and they have lots of stirfry dishes and cooked food, I don't think you'll have a problem their finding other options. It's not super fancy, but the price is right :)
Do they have a "shaggy dog"?

I'm sure if you give the chef a couple winks, he might cook some up for you!
I'm craving sushi. Might check it out tonight.

I think he was really young. Black dude with a baby fro, lil' stocky. I offered to buy him a drink for his services but I was denied :( He was a cutie!
brazeneye 06-11-2009, 03:00 PM Tell him the blonde girl in the blue dress says THANKS.. I'll be back to use his services.
It would be hilarious if people now come up to him asking him for foot rubs.
If I make it to drais, I'll let him know. I think I'll pass on making a request though. LOL

Hahahahaha... I think he totally remembers me, I hung out with him for awhile and I got hugs, it was just on Monday.
I think I made this thread gross by talking about feet in the sushi thread. :p

Just back from Vegas last week and I will concur on Social House.
We got the taster menu for 3 and the sushi was incredible. included Kobe beef and scallop sashimi which was to die for.
If you get a reservation close to the Sirens show time and get a patio seat you get a fantastic view of the show.
Am taking the family when we go back to Vegas next month.
nyc2vegas 06-17-2009, 05:59 PM good choice, we did omikase at social, it was outrageous! right on the pation in front of sirens!
mojo1108 06-25-2009, 01:41 PM Yes Social House is soooooooo good.. not to mention the rest of their food.. love the patio too
xtrmski03 07-12-2009, 09:32 PM Went to Japonais at Mirage over the 4th of July and sat in the garden area (not the restaurant area). Food was ok/good but not fantastic. Had 4 rolls, a couple pieces of sashimi, appetizer, and bottle of wine. Bill came to $135 w/out tip and for what we received, I would say very average...
IRockNvegas 07-12-2009, 10:01 PM That sux, hopefully it was a 90 dollar bottle of wine
