This is a true story about someone very dear to me... myself.

I got into clubX a while ago on a busy night. I needed to leave the club to assist a friend with something... I was assured by the doorman that with the stamp on my wrist I would be able to get back in without any issues.

NOT.

I waded through the throng of people trying to use the re-entry line to get favors by doormen and such and was totally ignored for about an hour. Even tho I was at the front of the line, brandishing my awesome stamp, the doorman refused to even acknowledge my existence.

I eventually just went back into the general admission line which by this time was very short.. I was pretty much the back of the line. The general admission line finally was empty and got entirely into the club while guess what? Yup... the throng at the re-entry line was still huge with people screaming trying to get favors to bypass the (now non-existant) regular line.

So, moral of the story? Don't leave the club unless you are ready to wait in the line again.

Also... you'd be suprised how much quicker the General Admission line moves as compared to all the other lines (except the ladies line, of course).

No suprise general admission line moved faster if you think about it, the people in this queue haven't paid the cover yet, and seen clubs want your money...they'll get in before re-entry and I can bet if any complaints are made, the clubs response will be ''Well why did you leave, it was a awesome night''. Big clubs don't like you leaving, they like you to stay all night and spend all ya money.

Maybe it has something to do with the time you tried to get back in..after midnight perhaps?

Its such bullshit.....all you do is end up alienating your customers. I dont care how self-important these clubs, bouncers, and promoters think they are, you cant constantly shit on people and expect to last.

I know I'll get the "well, big clubs can get away with that, and if you dont like it others will take your place", b.s, but its not really accurate. That kind of disrespectful behavior towards consumers or patrons has dismantled many a corporation or business, no matter how powerful, and it catches up to a club....negative experiences travel from person to person, and what starts as a trickle of customers leaving, turns into a hemorrhage ---- to the next, more popular or trendy club.

Is it asking too much to honor people who have paid good money to enter into your establishment? Establishing good will with your constituency is important. Also, for all the bells and whistles, Vegas by and large is struggling and is not immune to the massive recession gripping the country. Is it wise to alienate past or potential consumers?

Bottom line. Show respect. Like anything, there are karmic reactions. Want to shit on people when you can get away with it? Fine, but what goes up almost always goes down, and in due time you will be giving out free entry passes for groups of 12 guys from Minnesota.

I'm sorry but seriously LOL. Lets see $20-50 cover per guy? One table on average $2000. Get mad in the GA line, for everyone who gets mad in GA, there's plenty of people willing to give their monthly salary over to the club just to have a table.

Only 50 bucks? Thats kind of elitist.

I covered the type of response that you made in my initial post, but Ill repeat it somewhat. Arrogant, living-in-the-moment thinking has caused the downfall of many a business. As more and more clubs open up, the competition will become that more fierce. Bad reputations for clubs have a lasting effect. Even if it is from a lowly guy who has to be GA.

I've been in vegas since 08 and never heard of this happening. This is more of a NYC thing. Clubs out here are much more organized and run more professional.

the bank is notorious for re-entry issues. Ive had problems there, and somebody started a thread about it a couple of weeks ago. I agree, tho. Most clubs have no problem honoring paying customers.

out of all the places i've been, i've only had to do re-entry twice. once at tryst, with no problems. one night at pure, a few years ago, i did about 5 or 6 re-entries, and walked right in each time.

haha the only place I had this issue was at the Bank during invasion. I waited like 2 minutes and they were too busy. Texted Perrings to set things up XS at 5 mins. Cab ride took 10 more mins and I got my club upgraded within 20 minutes. So its never a problem!

Obnoxious doors in Vegas do not help the club's long term popularity and profitability, bottom line. Just look at the clubs notorious for treating patrons disrespectfully and where are they today (and what type of problems have they dealt with) compared to the other spots in town? Let's see... Light, Bank, Prive, Pure . . .
