Well, I went ahead and used some contacts and got a table reserved for Tao on a Friday night and Pure on a Saturday night. I was told by Tao that bottles start at 350 and go up. Pure told me 425 and up. Of course you have to factor in the sales tax of 7.75% as well as gratuity, 20%.

My friend also tried making reservations for both places but went through a VIP Host Service. They gave him an out the door price of $235 per person for Tao and $225 per person for Pure. There is a total of 6 in our group.

Is the VIP service giving a better price by taking care of all the hidden costs or will my reservations hold up and be a better price overall.

If my math is correct, with my reservations its about $1150 for Tao which is about $190 a person and thats just the 2 bottle minimum. For Pure it would be about $1230 and $245 a person. I added a few hundred to each total for tipping the doorman and whatnot.

What do you guys think?

Oh, I assumed 2 bottles for Tao and 3 for Pure.

i would really wonder about the vip service. ive honestly never heard great things about going thru them, and ive always had great luck going thru the vip host directly at the club. you didnt mention what was included in going with the vip service. do you get a table inside? how much alcohol is included in that price? are you paying a cover? does that include the gratuity for your server inside? are you sure you are guaranteed to get in, seeing that the person from the service doesnt actually work at the club. lots of things i would look into. im sure there are a couple good vip services out there, i just suggest going directly thru a club VIP host.

also, plan on 3 bottle minimums at both of those places. i think your estimates are pretty close, just take into consideration, any extra money you may spend for other drinks aside your bottles, possible shots or drinks for girls that come to the table etc. i usually go out with a group of 6 guys myself, and spend between 250 and 300 a piece.
