So here is a late, abbreviated PG-13 accounting of what transpired during my trip on Easter Weekend.
A colleague and I arrive to find a somewhat older brunette on the jet bridge holding a sign with my name on it. We all proceed to baggage claim where she insists on wheeling our luggage and we head to a waiting Maybach. As we pull up to the MGM grand, we are greeted by our concierge, host, porter and butler who escort us up to the LOFTS. We spike our welcome juice with Goose from the mini bar, unpack, and hit the craps tables for a bit before dinner. Later we meet up with some friends who, much to my chagrin did not want to chip in for a table. We start out the night at Tao- where Perez Hilton is celebrating his birthday and roll in around 11:30. My friend and I are not happy campers as we can hardly move and the bar lines are long. At this moment I remember my vow of not coming here without a table and I suggest we move to Tryst. I see my Tao guy on the way out and I reaffirm my vow with him. He laughs and we grab a shot. He said they have had 4000 covers already and that Perez really drew a huge crowd. I will say lots of hot girls here for Worship. We arrive at Tryst around 1 or so. I wasn’t feeling well to start the night (jet lagged and getting over a cold) but, make a quick lap or two. They didn’t have much of a line but, had a good amount of people inside where you could still move. On my way out I run into XS / Tryst guy who asks where I thought I was going and asked me why I hadn’t let him know I was in town. I tell him I was spent but, would see him at XS on Friday….
I get some sleep (alone :( ) and fell rejuvenated in the morning. Everyone is still asleep but, I need energy before checking out Liquid. So after some room service and the sounds of the butler making coffee my friends arise. My friends wanted to hit the tables so, I hit up an Asian girl I met at Tao. She is staying at Aria with her girlfriend and I ask if they would like to join me at Liquid. They are in and we grab a daybed. It’s definitely a bit more subdued than Wet. Think Bare with a second elevate pool area and a larger main pool. They definitely have good crowd control- turning away dude heavy groups. Inside there are lots of eye candy. Music is great (house/top 40 mashups). I ordered several pitchers and we had lunch. Service was spot on… think a Four Seasons or Rosewood. The waitresses and busers ran every time we ordered anything and nothing was too much trouble. Relaxing but, fun. This is my new favorite pool. The host said that it will be livelier as the season warms up. After dinner we hit the tables at the Playboy club with the two girls I hung out with at the pool. My friend had dinner with a bachelorette party (don’t ask) at Strip Steak so, we head over to Mandalay and meet him up. After a couple of rounds we are ready to go to XS. The bachelorette party said they will meet us there. My friend, the two girls and I roll up to the XS ropes just before midnight. I know people have had issues here and that I know several hosts here very well but, we are immediately shown to a table above the dance floor and had a great time. I met the infamous Ryan Perrings who was exceptionally accommodating. He in fact set us up at Drai’s for some afterhours partying. Victor himself was walking the club and I personally thanked him for the beautiful space and great energy. Victor and his team in my opinion are the best and I live all their properties (including the new space at the W Hollywood). Anyway, the two girls ask if they could see the LOFT and who am I to deny them of the opportunity…
Saturday morning was rough. We wake up around noon, eat breakfast and head down to Wet. There are so many friendly ladies here. I’m buzzing good now and have the bright idea to go to Bare for some lunch. Let me just say that this was not the best idea. The service and food was fine but, there were some ladies who should have not been there let alone be allowed to take their tops off. My retinas were burning from fat grandma. We run back to Wet. Why do they check your wallets? Razor blades? Anyway, we find the group of girls we were talking to earlier and they are going to XS. I however, felt torn because the great Tiesto would be spinning at Haze. So half of us (the table half) go to Haze and it was great…
Sunday Funday – back to liquid. Tonight I wanted to finally check out Vanity. Got there around 11 and though there was some eye candy the Wet girls are at The Bank. So as I’m leaving I learn its dorm daze so dilemma. We decide to go to The Bank and grab a table. As I’m walking in the DJ is congratulating MR. JACK COLTON on coming out of the closet. Colton is here… I know it was the right move. Anyway, Mickey Avalon comes on and the crowd is great. I wanted to say hi to Colton but, wouldn’t know where to find him. Anyway, this was a great final night in Vegas.
