Bababooey323 02-02-2010, 09:23 PM Any stories or strategies?
I only played once, at the Excalibur. Did decent, won about two hundy. I hit at least 5 numbers within 20mins of playing.
My friend's got a strategy where he places an amount of cash on a color, and places bets down on the table, covering all the opposite numbers, so one way or the other, he wins... I'm not an experienced player, so I have no idea if that's a decent strategy or not smart.
Bababooey323 02-02-2010, 09:27 PM Also at Excalibur, this one Asian dude kept betting a big stack on 00 every turn, and he hit 00 5 times within 10 minutes, it was insane
masterdeviance 02-02-2010, 09:49 PM I started using this particular method a couple years ago. With this one, you can only lose so much, and you have a very good chance of winning some coin, albeit at a slower pace. Worst case is you're outta $62, and the best case is you win a lot of the lower bets and hit on the $32 spin and walk away with double or possibly even more of your original stake. Read the following to understand how to use this system:

First time I tried it, I lost $62 right off the bat. Second time, I sat with 2 buddies for an hour, had 4 or 5 beers, and won $240. My other friends won a little less than me. My latest experiences have fallen somewhere in between :)
I stay away from it. Ive watched too many of my friends get busted up from it.
I almost always do a nominal $20 on black.
I used to play some more when I gambled more... usually it would involve me winning a couple hundred after hours of hold em playin and then on the last day... losing it all by betting on black, losing, doubling black, losing, doubling black, losing, money gone.

I like that strategy! Might have to give it a try sometime!
When my friends see a table thats hit red or black 5 times in row (or more), they cant contain their selves. Ive watched them lose every penny in their pocket. They never seem to learn their lesson either. :(

Yeah, I know ppl with all sorts of weird betting routines (like mine!) when it comes to roulette. I think most people know subconsciously that every outcome in the game is independent, but they have to try and convince themselves that they're not just making a fool's bet. I mean, the game has crappy odds, period. As long as you're aware of that, you can enjoy it for what it is.

thanks for writing that.. I just had an argument with someone that thinks each spin is somewhat dependent on previous spins.. i was like, nooo, it can hit black all night.. each spin is independent of the last.. doesn't matter that it was 32 last.. it can be 32 again..
i always pick the last two rows.. not exactly a strategy, but so far in roulette, i am up.. but i don't like this game much.. i only play it if the blackjack tables are full.
krewchas 02-05-2010, 10:20 AM one thing i have learned over some time of playing this ... if u play late at night or early morning and get a cool dealer some have the skills to dictate the area of the wheel it will hit.
i never believe my friend when he told me this, but at mgm one day we had this young dealer who we kept chatting it up to and played at his table for a while. at first we would jokingly say "hey dealer hit X # and ill take care of you" and like the next 2 spins he would spin it and it would be like 1-2 spaces away from that # if it didnt hit and just smile. After some time we would just say give me X number and bet on that # and ones around it and we were making mad money.
By the end of the session i want to say we tipped him over $200 because we were winning that much, pretty much he would watch the wheel and i guess had a touch on how fast to release that ball to get it to land in a certain section. Most dealers just spin that ball as fast as they want ... this guy knew what he was doing...
blibblab 02-06-2010, 10:12 PM I usually play at the Casino Royale since it's $1 betting. Put a certain dollar amount on either black or red and then bet the same amount on the inner numbers, usually hitting the corners or dividers for most of the bet and placing a number down here or there. It's a slow way to play since you usually push, but I've always had an overall gain.
madscientist 02-10-2010, 10:36 PM i had to slow down on my roulette game too cuz its been kicking my arse lately. but my strategy is to put some $ on black/red, then either hit 1st/2nd/3rd 12 or one of the three rows with the same amount. Play 10 or so numbers straight, also my 0 and 00. Plus I ALWAYS play whatever the last number that hit was and the date. Used to always pay off SOMETHING but i don't know.... lately the magnet in the wheel hasn't been on my side

is it still $1 minimum roulette at casino royale?
dutchryan 06-01-2010, 06:27 PM it was $3 dollar minimums on roulette and blackjack last time I was at casino royale. that place is a blast but can get way too smoky for my taste.

yeah it definitely does get way too smoky. It's just a crowded closed space with much ventilation, seems like

I still need to try out this strategy!
Whiggi 08-03-2010, 11:56 AM No real strategy to roulette.
EVERY bet on roulette has the exact same odds of hitting (except the 0, 00, 1, 2, 3 bet on double 0 wheels which is a complete sucker bet)..
And having a house edge of 5%+ on double 0 wheels makes me want to stay away from them when im in vegas, but it can be such a fun game
khristina 11-04-2010, 11:58 PM one of my friend crazy in roulette , he keeps playing everyday but he didnt use much money to play ..
anyway i like slot and blackjack and poker
drew84 10-18-2011, 12:03 AM I'll be in biloxi on Thursday to try this strategy out. Hopefully I see winnings :D wish me luck!
BenjyBronk 11-05-2011, 06:30 PM Here is some good info on the game: http://wizardofodds.com/roulette
JLondon 11-09-2011, 09:21 AM There is a saying that a skilled roulette dealer can spin a ball to within 3-5 segments should they wish so I play the following strategy (and have been burned enough times as well) doing it:
Play a segment of the wheel
e.g 3, 15, 21, 24, 34, 36
All the above numbers on American roultette are next to each other on the wheel so in effect you are playing a "pocket" of the wheel which cuts down your odds of a number hitting to 7/1 (but obviously paying odds of 33/1) as there are 6 other consecutive pockets.
If a number hits I buy the 13 and I forget the 2nd number but essentially enlarging the pocket either side bring odds down to 6/1.
In theory if you tip dealer well then there is a hope they will spin the wheel for this particular pocket however with job security and evil eyed pit bosses I am concensus that at times they do exact opposite and this is where this strat falls down,
Anyway worth sharing for those that want something different to "doubling up on red/black" :D
21togamble 11-25-2011, 01:23 AM 4 things
1. Euro wheel
B. Quad system
3. Cruise ship
D. Chase betting
*Bonus - Any game with a wheel
1. Look for a euro wheel if you're ying black and red. Also pay attention to the quad or segments you're playing. The Euro wheel is different.
B. The segment or quad system works if you talk to and tip the dealer.
3. Play roulette on the last day of a cruise, tell the dealer you've lost 5k on the boat playing. They will slow roll the wheel until you get like 3-4k back. They want you to come back on the boat and usually on the last night they stay open later to make more money and nobody else will be in there. I have done this twice and I learned it by seeing another guy doing it once so I have witnessed it 3 x.
D. Chase betting is dumb unless you have an unlimited bank roll and you are allowed an unlimited max bet - which I have never heard of... Chase betting is when you bet $20 lose $40 lose $80 lose etc. Also called progressive losing... :-)
BONUS - Any game in a casino with a wheel is a dumb game to play if you're seriously looking to win money. They are fun but huge money makers for the casinos.
