Hi,

Thoughts on pre-fixe/tasting menus for a group of 8-10 girls? I've read they're kind of a rip off, but I'm thinking it might be easier to deal with when paying the tab.

Any suggestions for something around $50/pp?

Thanks!!
Melissa

When are you planning on being out there? Sometimes theres different deals and pre-fixe menus based on the time your there.

4/22-4/25 2010 I wouldnt even worry about it right now. A lot could change between now and then

We won't be out there until the weekend of April 22-25. I am just trying to figure out if it's even a good idea in the first place.

Wow, your planning WAYYYYYYY ahead. I wouldnt even worry about menus for dinner until like a month or 2 out. Things change a lot.

*Just reread what i said and it basically says the same thing DNix does*

Hmmmm, can you tell us more about which place you are going and what all is included?

Lavo, Tao, Fix, and Stack all have whats called "girl dinners," and those usually include drinks and a number of plates that are basically appetizers. Of those, Lavo and Tao are probably the closest to actual dinners....but it definitely isn't the best stuff from the menu.

Since you don't usually want to eat a ton before going out anyway, sometimes these can be good deals if the drinks are included as those can easily add up at $8 to $14 a pop.

We haven't figured out where we're going yet. We're probably going to be staying at the MGM. Some of the suggested places were Stack and FIN at the Mirage, and Diego and Shibuya at MGM. If I remember right, these were app, entree', and desert. No drinks included.

Can I find out more about these "girl dinners" on the websites? It sounds like it might be the way to go.

Oh, if we do something at Tao or Lavo, do you think we could possibly tie it in with bottle service in the club later that night or something like that? This dinner was going to be Saturday night, and that was going to be the official "bachelorette party" night. Might be cool (and easy) if we could do it all in one place.

Thx guys!

I did one when Wynn was having a restaurant week on all their places. The best bang for the buck was definitely at both of the steakhouses.

Definitely. Contact Kiki from Tao / Lavo 702-234-9380. I need to track down the Light Group contact (Stack / Fix), but you just need to let them know you are a group of all girls. Depending on the night, sometimes its comped.

OK. Wow. Kiki was totally helpful, and the prices at Tao/Lavo are incredibly reasonable considering what I was expecting. I sent a request through the Light Group bachelorette contact page, so I'll see what I get with that...

If you happen to stumble across your contact, feel free to send it my way!

Thanks Jack!

Never doubted him for a second! I'm still trying to wrap my brain around how freaking great this site is!! I have a scary feeling it's going to break my wallet, though. Vegas once or twice a year used to be good enough... Now I'm re-thinking that completely. ;)

Maybe some of us LA/OC people can carpool! Looks like that might end up being the most costly part of the trips. When is that big JC trip in May? I've seen people mentioning it, but haven't seen any dates yet. Maybe I'll have to pencil that in...

Welcome to my world, and British Virgin, and everyone else that doesn't live close like you guys do! :D My airfare is always the biggest cost of our trip.

I didn't have luck with the pre-fixe menus down there, maybe I just didn't do it right or something, but when I asked they were too busy? I dunno
