Day -1: Travel UCK!

Get up finish packing – Finally hit the road at about 10am, six hours straight driving we hit our friends place in the bay area. Hang out and go to bed.

Day 1: Bunnies, Strawberries and Security Escorts

We hit SFO at about noon, after a short trip on the BART. Go check in with Virgin America. I completely forgot that they charge per bag so for Leia and I’s bags cost $60 ($30 each way) out of my drinking budget arrghh. You know how much I hate baggage fees! I still haven’t gotten use to them.

The flight took off on time, and I started to get my party mood on, almost there…

We hit LAS around 3pm headed down and collected our baggage then walked to the shortest taxi queue ever, meaning we walk straight to the taxi spot and then in the next cab ☺ We head straight for Palms place and check in. Didn’t try the sandwich trick, since I am figuring the Palms Place is nice enough, but the girl on the front desk notices that it is my Birthday the next day and tells me she will get me a strip view room on a high floor. Woo Hoo.

So happily with that we head for the 39th floor to our room, when we get there we start to unpack and I crack a beer from the mini bar and check out the room. About 10 minutes later there is a knock at the door, and room service is standing there with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for my birthday from the hotel manager (I read front desk clerk ). Talk about a shock, it was that bad that we forgot to tip (my bad).

So after the bottle of champagne and another beer unpacking is finished we think about heading to the pool but it is 4.45pm and the pool shuts at 5pm. What is that about I would be happy to be pool side until 6 or 7pm should have went there straight after unpacking.

So we head off to 24/7 Dinner Café for dinner, and I remember why I don’t eat before getting ready to go out… Part of my dinner ends up on my shirt. So we head back to the room to get ready and some pre-game action and a quick battle nap.

About 9.45 we head out of our room and head for the playboy club. As we are getting near their I text our host (the JC contact) who tells us to check in at the podium. We are just checking in as he comes out to meet us. Grabs my ID and credit card and off we go.
When he get us up to PB he takes us to our table, the one he is about to give us has shared seating with another table. Some one says something to him and he looks around and moves us to another table by itself. The table is in prime position right on the dance floor. He introduces us to our server for the night who in turn introduces another bunny who will be helping out and another guy who would be making sure the mixers and ice would be topped up.

We order a bottle of Ketel One and sit down to enjoy the night. Both Leia and I are great people watchers and the location we had for that in PB was excellent. I seem to start off slow on the drink with leia drinking 2 for my 1 (oh the shame), but that situation is soon cleared up but we still don’t seem to be putting a dent in the bottle.

In think one of the killers is that once we got a sitting position and we were drinking and chatting to each other we never really had the need to talk to another one else. So we just hung around the table chatted to the servers as they came by to check in on us, so not really a good night for socializing. It was a really good way to get into my birthday.

By three in the morning they start closing up shop and we get the remaining quarter bottle sealed up and security escorts us from the PB club down the elevator, through the casino across the skytube and up our room at Palms Place, really nice service I do have to say.

One note I do have it was 2 days later when I took the vodka out of the fridge that we notice it was a 1L not 75cl bottle of vodka as I had thought… no wonder we were having a harder job that expected getting through it especially with the pregaming.

After a monday.... the first monday after vegas, I have lost the will power to type day 2.... it will be tomorrow or more likely wednesday. But hopefully at least day 2 and 3 will come along them

I found that most places will let you take it out, but not the glass bottle. I've once taken it out in styrofoam cups. :confused:

lol seriously.. I don't usually drink out of the bottle because other peeps at the table might not think its sanitary..but I didn't think to ask for the rest of the bottle from the club.

lol thats true... especially if its bottle service. I will be sure to ask for my "Doggy Bottle" from hostess next time.. I will probably have the gf ask so just incase they say No I won't be embarassed :D

Day 2 : Cabana’s, food and early nights ☹

About 6am I wake up, the pain I think is still sleeping. I muster out of bed potter around the room for a bit before heading back to sleep. 8am the pain wakes up before me, ouch! I stumble out of bed knock some water and vitamins back and head back to bed. 8.30am I struggle back out of bed… I knew I shouldn’t have went back to sleep even if it is only for a half hour I now feel 100% worse than I started. Leia started to get out of bed and was feeling worse than me. It was at this stage that I got the feeling that tonights actives were not going to happen. A quick e-mail off to our host to cancel the table for that night, then cleaned up and headed for the pool.

We picked up our cabana at the palms place pool at about 9.30 got a pitcher of water in and fell to sleep for about an hour and half. The pool was amazingly quiet very chilled out. Service was good, but with the number of people there I would expect it ☺ By about 11 I was starting to feel that good bit better. Got some food from the restaurant and switched the water for beer. By mid afternoon it was time to move off the beer and to my usual so-co and ginger (my first for this trip), made the afternoon more all that more quickly. About 4pm two girls turned up to the pool that proceed to harash every group of men that were around the pool. It was really quite fun to watch. I think Leia managed one alcoholic drink all day.

4.30 came last calls for the pool bar were made, I was ready to take on the world setup for another night. We packed up headed back to the room, to shower and change. I had a small battle nap, which was not a good thing woke up half sober and really groggy.

We head down for our dinner at Little Buddha for my birthday, which was a good as always except for the strobe lights that were going off due to the alarms. Our bill including tip came out under $90 which is a miracle for me since it normally hits around $150 for two when I go there. The $25 dollar gift cert from Restaurants.com helped out a bit.

After dinner the two of us were stuffed and Leia was not up for much else so we ended up at the cinema watching GI Joe, which she promptly fell asleep in. So a early relaxed night for us.

The reason I was amazed at was the only other time that i had done Bottle Service was in Drais and they weren't letting us take the bottle or the contents with us. That was very painful we were not in good shape to start or finish that

Day 3 – Pool Crazyness, Phantoms

So after an early night before we both wake up refreshed and ready to go. We head for the palms place pool figuring that we can grab some breakie there and then head over to the palms pool once both of our heads actually wake up enough to handle and crazyness that might be going on.

We hit the pool at about 9.30 and people are already there pounding shots down. I grab one of the best breakfast burritos I have had in a while and beer to wash it down. So a the day of many drinks started, and the pool just kept getting more and more manic. For a pool that has a reputation of being chilled out, this day was not. At one point while sitting at the bar the barman said “ I don’t know what happened today every arrived in drunk”

All in in all it became one of the best days at a pool I have had, good people, good drink and great bar staff!

Went to Simon for dinner which was good ☺ Really good. The double dip was excellent.

We had tickets for Phantom that night; we freshened up and jumped in a joe maxi to the Ventian. The show was great, but it was two hours without drink… Not a good thing for me after a day worth of drinking. Headed out thought about hitting up TAO early but we had programs from the show and leia had not brought a bag. So back in the Taxi to Palms Place – proably not a good choice in reflection. At this point, I hadn’t been drinking in a while my buzz is gone and bed is looking good. You know ditch is tomorrow that’s going to be a big one….. but lets go down to rojo and have a couple of drinks and see if we get some life back into us.

Rojo, to me it was a lobby bar with very little atmosphere a couple of drinks there and I was ready to head to bed…. Tomorrow, tomorrow is going to be a better day.

Wow, when I was there the Pool was total chilled and calm. Seems you've been there at the right day :D

Day 4 – Blood, oh the blood. JC meetup and lines

We both wake up refreshed from the relatively early night and head for Ditch. We flash our room cars and head on into the pool. I am quite amazed at the level of activity already by this time. We get two bed loungers beside a set of speakers, order up a couple of drinks from the server and settle in for what should be a manic day (ha! Little did I know!).

We spend the next couple of hours drinking and heading into the pool to cool over sitting under the center bar misters and grabbing a bite to eat. The sunscreen leia brought down turns out not to be sweat/waterproof so it starts wiping off me.

We head back to beds to get the other sunscreen, I am sitting on the edge of the bed when I feel a drip, the a second drip. I look down (at the same time as I get a feeling of liquid coming out of my nose) to see a stream of blood, I manage to get my hand up to catch the most of the blood. The next part becomes a blur, security come running give me tissues and ask me what happened – think they were expecting a fight. One of them points me to the nearest bathroom. Once I get there I see myself in the mirror. Catching the blood wasn’t true, it was all over the white shirt I had on to protect my sun burnt shoulders. In the toilet the blood seems to have stopped so I get washed up, and it suddenly starts again. You know I have had nose bleeds as kid but this was one the worse I have seen, this was a fast flowing river! Security comes in to check on me and takes me to the first aid point were they throw cold packs on me (not the issue since I was just out of the pool and cooled down), for the next 30 minutes I sit in Rain waiting for the nose bleed to stop. They recommend strongly that I head for my room and rest up for bit, which I think is a good idea. They give me a pile of first aid supplies and a free t-shirt so I don’t need to walk thought the casino in the blood splattered shirt.

Leia and I head back to the room, which I sit around have a cold shower and bitch about missing ditch. It’s about 3pm when I feel like getting up and moving again and since ditch is closing at 4.30pm that day I didn’t feel like the walk to the palms. So for the next couple of hours we head down and knock back a couple at the pool bar at palms place, a good couple.

The bar closes up at about 5.30, as it turns out there are benefits to talking to the bar guy, like not getting cut off a last orders like most other people in the pool. I got an entire extra 30 minutes of drinking time as I was sitting at the bar.

We head back up to the room and get changed for the member meet, which we are late for. We head in and see a bunch of people and I am think that’s got to be them. I decide we should grab a drink and go introduce ourselves, but as our drinks arrive NYC speaks up and asks if I am Audrieu. All I can say is very one we met at the meetup was great. Done a shot or Jaeger with Cashrules since was his stag and birthday, and got drinking with one of his party, who I now owe many many drinks.

Time sort of goes weird here, and of a sudden people start heading out, 2GirlsOneVegas head out to TAO, NYC has disappeared (which it turns he was outside making calls) and everything seems to finishing up so Leia and I head over to the palms to pick up our wristbands.

There is no problem picking them up but the first security guys tells us that we have to go stand with a pile of people to get into rain, but not to worry it is only going to take 20minutes! Well the “we don’t do lines” floats through my mind and we head for playboy where we go straight up no issues, we hang there for bit and then to moon were we bounce for a bit before heading back to down and going to rain. This time we find a different security guy who lets us straight through (the line we were told to go is just as big!) and into rain we go.

After a while leia starts to get hungry and we head out to meet up with cashrule’s crew going to ghostbar. We all try to talk leia into going up but she needs food. My problem is if I drink and then eat that is me done. Put food in my stomach and I am done. So we head back to room I have no idea what time it is and collapse.

Day 5- planes and good food

We get up head out to the airport and head back to San Francisco. We take the bart back to a friends house. Don’t really do much but we do go out for Ethiopian food, for the first time ever which is now on top of my favorite foods!
