Now here's a topic I can sink my teeth into. A few of my favorites are Rochefort 10, Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, Duvel, Saison Dupont, Weihenstephaner Original, Victory Prima Pils, and Allagash White. As far as typical supermarket selection, I usually go with Pilsner Urquell or Hoegaarden. PBR is good if I'm really strapped for cash.

Tiger beer all the way for me, I'd brush my teeth with the stuff if I could!

Is it true that in the US / Canada you have loads of light beers? In the UK we only have Coors light..that's it! Does Bud light, etc have the same amount of alcohol as normal beer?

If so I think i've just worked out how i'm going to be 'healthy' in Vegas :D

Comparing Coors vs. Coors Light:

Coors light has approximately 30% fewer calories with only 15.5% less alcohol.

here is a list of beers and their respective alcohol %, carb counts, and calories... as always light beers always have less calories due to the fact they contain less alcohol. Alcohol is the main reason behind the calorie content in beer.

I have many favorites, really depends on my mood. But my all time favorite beer was a special brew by Ballast Pointe Brewing out here in San Diego, the brew was called Long Fin Lager, it was incredible! So...

1. Long Fin Lager by Ballast Pointe

2. Dos XX

3. Fat Tire

It depends what you mean by "normal". If you mean "like water", then yeah, Bud Light has about the same alcohol content.

Well to me they both taste like water'd down beer. They might be a "light" beer but you'll still end up drinkin a ton of them before you finally get a buzz where if you drink a non "light" beer like Newcastle you might get a buzz quicker.

Yeah.

Ok, I pulled out a little beer snob there - if you like the domestic lights, more power to you (and more money for ya, too). And I'm not above drinking it - if it's handed to me, I'm down for it. But I'm gonna be honest - it really doesn't hit the spot like a Newcastle does.

If you do like the domestic light brown bottles, though, 'cause you don't like too much of the flavor, I definitely recommend that Oregon Honey Beer. No idea where you get it, but that stuff is smooth. Dangerously smooth.

Also, I hear that the domestic light stuff actually is watered down. "American Ale" from Budweiser is supposed to be the uncut stuff - supposedly stronger.

Just a personal preference I suppose, but I like to start the night off with some more heavier beers/ more "higher end" stuff... but after maybe 4/5 of them I gotta switch to a light beer to really get the ragging started. The heavier stuff just seems to make me feel full and harder to guzzle....

Fat Tire is a great beer. It started in Colorado but is more of a west coast type of beer now. Wish i could get it in Miami, but i guess its like more of a treat when i come out west to have it.

Guinness - probably my number one miss from back in ireland.
my replacement for over here is local IPA, which is fondly referred to as the DUI IPA locally. Nice beer but after three and it is hard to stop the night from turning into a monster.

I got through phase of Bud light or coors light, usally that is hot days or in places that I am unsure of the beer... Bud and Coors tend to be bud and coors not matter were you are

Had a pretty good haul at the beer store today. Really looking forward to trying 30 Year Ola Dubh.

If you're ever in DC, I recommend hitting up RFD. It's the sister bar to the better known Brickskeller, but I prefer it because it's closer to where I live (or where I lived for the past two years, at least) and it has a better draft selection.
