View Full Version : What's Everyone Favorite Beer?
pcket5s 08-17-2009, 12:03 PM Just looking to experiment with some different brew ha's next time I hit up the Beer Distributor. Just looking to try something a lil unique/different next time... Whats everyone favorite beer to drink?
My Top Three:
1. Honey Moon Summer Ale (Blue Moon)
2. Sam Adams Summer Ale
3. Yuengling Black & Tan
coors light, bud lime, or corona
Trunks 08-17-2009, 12:09 PM high life light, miller light, dos xx
KC2Vegas 08-17-2009, 12:50 PM Im not picky but my #1 is corona. Although I do like bud lime and maybe a new castle from time to time.
blibblab 08-17-2009, 01:11 PM Yuengling, by default... But I try to avoid drinking beer at pretty much all times.
Newcastle, Pacifico, Oregon Honeybeer
pcket5s 08-17-2009, 01:23 PM what kinda of newcastle do you guys try to get? Are their different varieties?
BarrelO 08-17-2009, 01:33 PM Now here's a topic I can sink my teeth into. A few of my favorites are Rochefort 10, Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, Duvel, Saison Dupont, Weihenstephaner Original, Victory Prima Pils, and Allagash White. As far as typical supermarket selection, I usually go with Pilsner Urquell or Hoegaarden. PBR is good if I'm really strapped for cash.

hahaha I just took a case of PBR to the face this past weekend reliving my younger days :-D....
Staggered_UK 08-17-2009, 01:58 PM Tiger beer all the way for me, I'd brush my teeth with the stuff if I could!
Is it true that in the US / Canada you have loads of light beers? In the UK we only have Coors light..that's it! Does Bud light, etc have the same amount of alcohol as normal beer?
If so I think i've just worked out how i'm going to be 'healthy' in Vegas :D
uejjap 08-17-2009, 02:05 PM Comparing Coors vs. Coors Light:
Coors light has approximately 30% fewer calories with only 15.5% less alcohol.
pcket5s 08-17-2009, 02:12 PM here is a list of beers and their respective alcohol %, carb counts, and calories... as always light beers always have less calories due to the fact they contain less alcohol. Alcohol is the main reason behind the calorie content in beer.

Cisco419 08-17-2009, 03:10 PM I have many favorites, really depends on my mood. But my all time favorite beer was a special brew by Ballast Pointe Brewing out here in San Diego, the brew was called Long Fin Lager, it was incredible! So...
1. Long Fin Lager by Ballast Pointe
2. Dos XX
3. Fat Tire
nyc2vegas 08-17-2009, 03:15 PM corona coors and guiness
uejjap 08-17-2009, 03:17 PM +1 on the Guinness

I don't think there are, but I'd be willing to try if there are.

It depends what you mean by "normal". If you mean "like water", then yeah, Bud Light has about the same alcohol content.

Well to me they both taste like water'd down beer. They might be a "light" beer but you'll still end up drinkin a ton of them before you finally get a buzz where if you drink a non "light" beer like Newcastle you might get a buzz quicker.

Yeah.
Ok, I pulled out a little beer snob there - if you like the domestic lights, more power to you (and more money for ya, too). And I'm not above drinking it - if it's handed to me, I'm down for it. But I'm gonna be honest - it really doesn't hit the spot like a Newcastle does.
If you do like the domestic light brown bottles, though, 'cause you don't like too much of the flavor, I definitely recommend that Oregon Honey Beer. No idea where you get it, but that stuff is smooth. Dangerously smooth.
Also, I hear that the domestic light stuff actually is watered down. "American Ale" from Budweiser is supposed to be the uncut stuff - supposedly stronger.
KC2Vegas 08-17-2009, 08:17 PM budweiser american ale is okay not bad at all
pcket5s 08-18-2009, 05:21 AM Yeah.

Just a personal preference I suppose, but I like to start the night off with some more heavier beers/ more "higher end" stuff... but after maybe 4/5 of them I gotta switch to a light beer to really get the ragging started. The heavier stuff just seems to make me feel full and harder to guzzle....
tangoplus 08-18-2009, 08:24 PM Stella Artois, Corona, Hoegarden, Alexander Keith Red
Keebler 08-18-2009, 09:21 PM Fat Tire all the way
tschwicht 08-18-2009, 09:38 PM Newcastle or Amstel Light are usually my two favorites, but lately i've been into Guinness or Black/Tans.
Cisco419 08-18-2009, 09:46 PM Fat Tire all the way

Funny you guys should say this, because just this last saturday I was at The Goat Hill Tavern in Costa Mesa and they have a new New Castle summer ale out.

It's an amber ale I believe... good stuff! I've turned a few people onto it!
Keebler 08-21-2009, 04:15 PM Fat Tire is a great beer. It started in Colorado but is more of a west coast type of beer now. Wish i could get it in Miami, but i guess its like more of a treat when i come out west to have it.

tangoplus 08-23-2009, 12:07 AM hmm... American sure love their Budweisers!

IndianDude 08-23-2009, 12:53 PM I'm not liking all this talk of beer right now.
My head feels like a train wreak.
Never mix Stone IPA with Sam Adams Boston and Grey Goose.

Were gonna have to duct tape it to your hand. haha.

Usual night out knocking back the pints i'll usually hit the Heineken
IndianDude 08-23-2009, 02:57 PM That actually sounds like a good mix!
Oh it was great last night, but not so great right now.
Audrieu 08-24-2009, 10:19 PM Guinness but only at home

Guinness - probably my number one miss from back in ireland.
my replacement for over here is local IPA, which is fondly referred to as the DUI IPA locally. Nice beer but after three and it is hard to stop the night from turning into a monster.
I got through phase of Bud light or coors light, usally that is hot days or in places that I am unsure of the beer... Bud and Coors tend to be bud and coors not matter were you are
My three favs are Manny's, Fat Tire, and Stella Artois. In Seattle, there's a place called Tap House Grill. They have 160 beers on tap and happy house twice a day, perfect for getting messed up on the cheap.
KC2Vegas 08-25-2009, 07:14 AM Speaking of beer any of you guys go to yard house ?
Cisco419 08-25-2009, 09:48 AM Speaking of beer any of you guys go to yard house ?

Atleast once a month.
But lately i've been visiting The Goat Hill Tavern more often; they've got 141 beers on tap :D
KC2Vegas 08-28-2009, 11:35 AM Never heard of that one. Yardhouse is great :) :D
IndianDude 08-28-2009, 12:16 PM Never heard of that one. Yardhouse is great :) :D
Yes it is. :)
I love their half yard & their half priced appetizers during happy hour.
BarrelO 08-28-2009, 04:29 PM Had a pretty good haul at the beer store today. Really looking forward to trying 30 Year Ola Dubh.
If you're ever in DC, I recommend hitting up RFD. It's the sister bar to the better known Brickskeller, but I prefer it because it's closer to where I live (or where I lived for the past two years, at least) and it has a better draft selection.
hague 08-30-2009, 04:43 PM Grolsch no.1
Dommelsch no.2
BarrelO 09-16-2009, 06:34 PM Three words: Founders Breakfast Stout.
SDGonzo 09-17-2009, 05:12 AM Yuengling amber
Leinenkugel Red
Michelob Amberbock
The Amber microbrew at Ellis Island
NoCo81 09-18-2009, 04:36 PM I'd have to go Fat Tire, Skinny Dip, Corona but I do like the old reliable Bud Light. Fat Tire is pretty much brewed in my back yard, we go to the brewery and have beer tours so you get to drink the freshest beer possible.
P-tr-ck 09-18-2009, 06:58 PM My favorite beer is
Paulaner Weizenbier and
Franziskaner Weizenbier
perfect.
Just had a lot of them
