Im sorry for last year. I picked him with my 1st pick in my fantasy draft last year. Every year my #1 pick has a bad year or gets injured.

yeah i mean obviously last year was not what i hoped it would be, but if one good thing came out of it, at least cassel got to show off his talent. i think he did one hell of a good job and i am glad he doesn't haven't to sit on the bench anymore, because clearly he has the talent to be a starting QB.

Its crazy how good he could be. He was a backup in college then in the pros. Just unlucky to always be backing up the best players in the league.

yes but this year will be the tell all year!! since he was a backup in college and then in the league there was not one shred of gametape on him, now every defensive coach has plenty of tape to breakdown in addtion to playing for a genius like belichick caused him to appear to be a stud......we will see what happens this year on a horrific team with a first year coach, and like I said plenty of gametape for opposing teams!

Belichick is the reason I still love the Pats- he's a genius. And I'm happy that Tom Brady is back and looking good to play. Let's make sure to tell whoever put him for fantasy football last season to not do that...maybe it was a jinx. :D

You have no idea. At leats the Dolphins turned around that horrible 1-15 season to go 11-5 last year, but the Seminoles are just not what they used to be. I remember the days they used to put up 60 points like it was nothing and blow everyone out of the water. Watching what the Gaytors are doing now hurts even more.

Also, if you did not win the Super Bowl, you are not the greatest team of all time, nor did you have the greatest season of all time. This should be so obvious that I'm kind of surprised that I have to explain it.

They definitely belong on the short list of great teams, and I feel like they don't get the credit they deserve (so many people talk about how overrated they are that they've become overrated, IMO). But they played an incredibly soft schedule, and they weren't as dominant in the playoffs as the other teams. In fact, I think the case could be made that the 1973 Dolphins were better than the 1972 team.

The Dolphins played one of the easiest schedules in modern NFL history...the opposition had a combined winning percentage under .400. Also the Dolphins had problems in the playoffs.... beat the Steelers in the AFC title game by only four points, 21-17 and were underdogs going into the Super Bowl against the Redskins, who they defeated 14-7. Undefeated underdogs? Best Team of all-time?

Ive always said that any team going undefeated on any level is an extroadinary feat....I dont care of it is NCAA vs. high school teams, if you continue to bring your A game week in and week out your a great team. Im sure we can find teams that have have weaker schedules than they did and obviously did not go undefeated.....like I said earlier opinions will vary but the have to be in the discussion

Agreed....just dont see how the 85 Bears (and I'm a HUGE Bears fan) are always seen as the best team ever but they lost a game and the Pats did the same (yes it was in the Superbowl)...but they had a more impressive season then the Bears did in 85.

I just think the biggest game of a season is the SB, and if you cant win the biggest game of the season then people in general will not include you in the greatest team discussion, I think that if they would have lost to the Gmen the last game of the season and then beat them in the superbowl its a completely different situation.....not saying its right or wrong just saying thats the way people tend to view it

Yep...just like people never include certain players on the "Greatest of All-time" list just because they never won a title.

Yes, they had a weak schedule. But they played almost the entire season with a 38-year-old backup quarterback (Earl Morrall). When the 2008 Pats were in a similar situation (creampuff schdule, backup QB), they didn't even make the playoffs. And the Super Bowl wasn't nearly as close as the score indicated. The Redskins made it past midfield only four times the entire game. If Garo Yepremian hadn't decided to be a retard, the Dolphins would have been the only team to pitch a shutout in the Super Bowl.

It's simple. The Bears were more dominant when it mattered. They absolutely destroyed every team they faced in the playoffs that year. By comparison, the Jaguars and Chargers both put up a pretty good fight against the Pats, and the Giants beat them.

I think that list is a little different though because in a team sport like football no one person can carry a team the whole season. Basketball is different because you can have a guy like Wade, Kobe, or LeBron, and they can carry a team all the way into the playoffs by themselves, but in football are you going to fault Marino for never winning a SB because he had no running game and a crappy defense the entire time he was in Miami? What about Barry Sanders? I know he quit in his prime but he is still one of the greatest backs to ever run the ball and the Lions hardly sniffed the playoffs.

It was a bad situation and it sucks the most for the Broncos. Cutler is going to be a great QB for years to come in this league and the Broncos were still in the quest for the "next" Elway. Here's what I wrote to a friend last week who sent me a petition to have Vick banned from the NFL:

---

What's funny is that Leonard Little killed a person while DUI and only got 90 nights of work release before heading back to the NFL... and then got arrested six years later again for DUI and again, the next season went back to the NFL [and got a Pro Bowl nod]

Also Ray Lewis plead down a murder charge to just an obstruction of justice charge in exchange for ratting out his two accomplices & friends in the stabbing to death of two people.

Add to that Donte Stallworth, just this past year, killed a man while DUI and only got a pathetic 30-days in jail. NFL's still wavering on whether or not to let him back in. [Edit: NFL just suspended him for a year]

The National Football League is a pathetic excuse when it comes to enforcement & standards. However, they sort of got the Vick situation right - but moreso because the state of corrections forced their hand. I think what Vick did was horrible, but at least he served a stiff sentence and has been stripped of pretty much all his valuables as well as any chance of being held in any regard among the fans & his peers. Whether he's sorrowful or not, I can't say, but the man has paid his dues unlike the jokes of the past in the league who have outright murdered people.

So... I can't say that I'd support a ban when the man has done his time in the system, his name will forever be marred - gone from a potential Hall of Fame'r to a sideshow who may not be able to play a whole year or be up to the standards of playing his profession again.

-----

That said, I'll see what he does and says - I believe the man has paid his dues and has a right to reconstruct his life.

Enjoy Favre's 3-4 INTs per game. The guy's done and it doesn't help that the Vikes don't really have possession receivers. Still might contend for the division only cause the NFC North is weak.

Freaking awesome! Went to the TCU game last night, Watched the Longhorns beat tech on the DVR this morning before watching the Jets-Partriots then the Steelers- Bears, and getting ready to hopefully see the Cowgirls lose to the Giants in the opener at the "Death Star". If there was such a thing as football overload, then I would be approaching it, good thing that that does not exist!

The hardest part about trying to finish this probably won't be the shots but the drinks in your hand between shots. Those double Redbull Vodka go down easy.

I agree. I think the Mountain West has some real good teams in it. I personally hate the way college football is set up right now, from the bowl system (they need a playoff) and also the preseason rankings. I believe there shouldnt be any rankings until after week 4, then you can see who should be ranked where based on results from this years games, not made up BS from last year and recruiting and people opinions. Rankeds are supposed to be based on RESULTS, too bad people dont vote that way.

Mountain West really is turning into one of those conferences where it is going to be difficult to go undeafeated in conference play let alone non-conference now that they are scheduling the likes of Oklahoma and others. This will probably start leaving the MWC on the outside looking in even though they have BCS worthy teams. I despise rankings, most are opinion based. Champions are crowned on the field not by a vote in some poll. Oh, by the way I'm a CSU alumn so Go Rams.

haha, the cowboys game should be a little tougher for them and their lucky 3-0 record based on the soft teams that they played.

then again my team has only played 1 team with a winning record and we lost that one and barely beat the raiders thanks to a td that was taken away by mistake. anyway, though it pains me to say it, go cowboys!
