View Full Version : Heads up for all on good discounts!!!
MelbaToast86 08-11-2009, 03:05 PM On restaurant.com they have an 80% off sale right now. Anyone interested needs to act quickly as this particular code expires on Aug. 13 (buy now for trips later on if need be as certificates are typically good for 365 days.) The code is : portion. just hit apply after you type the word portion into the discount window and it will show and apply your savings. There are some good venues on here for example I purchased a $50 dollar certificate for Aureole at MB for 4 Bucks, also got $50 Dollar cert's for Mix, Border Grill, Fleur De Lys, RM Seafood love the food at Mandalay! Hawaiian Tropic Zone, Stripsteak, Stripburger and Little Buddha (A personal Fav!). There are plenty of options and certificate amounts though I get the most bang with the $50's, more $ for Jaeger and gambling, haha. Been lurking for a bit on the boards, figured it was time for me to contribute to the wealth of info the great people on this awesome site provides! Bonjour, whatever that means
Cisco419 08-11-2009, 03:33 PM How exactly do these coupons work?
MelbaToast86 08-11-2009, 03:42 PM you purchase them online, say a $50 for 4 bucks with code. Then you print it out and take it to the restaurant. give it to your server and they will apply your discount to the total bill. a FYI they will usually apply auto gratuity at this time also, usually 18%. You can read about restaurants individual details and rules before purchasing.

Awesome! Cause it seems like a really killer deal! Can you use multiple ones at a time though?
MelbaToast86 08-11-2009, 04:56 PM Haven't tried multiple certificates, I dont think you can though. I would suggest if you have a bigger group getting a a $100 or $150. Some of the nicer places offer these, although you should read the fine print as they would require your bill to be $200 before you could use the $100 Cert. Still half off on a $200 spot isnt too bad. Using the code the $100 Cert should be 8 Bucks.
Cisco419 08-11-2009, 05:00 PM Yeah I was lookin at that... I might do one for a local spot and see how well it works... I'll let you know!
MelbaToast86 08-11-2009, 07:26 PM I have used them multiple times in San Fran, LA , Orange County and Vegas. Always worked just fine for me.
Strong 08-11-2009, 09:29 PM I agree.. they are valid. I use the $25 certs all the time here in Houston but never tried the $50. Let me know if the $50's work, seems too good to be true sometimes... post some updates!
MelbaToast86 08-11-2009, 10:09 PM The $50's have worked for me great thus far, only thing I would make sure to know going in is the $50 cert. will only be good to go if your bill is $100
Strong 08-12-2009, 08:37 PM Thats good to know. Yea I'm sure there is a minimum to spend. That would be insane if your bill was $50 and you used the $50 which means free meal. Haha
Audrieu 08-12-2009, 11:18 PM I just got a $25 for Little buddha and Hawaiian Tropic. for a grand total of $4. if they dont work it isnt much of loss... will let everyone know next week how it goes
mojo1108 08-13-2009, 08:06 AM When I called restaurant.com to enquire if multiple gift certs can be used for one meal, they said only one per table per meal
Audrieu 08-13-2009, 09:03 AM Also reading some of fine print, it also had a may use one per venue per month. Which if you planning hitting up you fav resturant with one of these a couple times on hol is a good point to know.
dutchryan 08-15-2009, 10:04 AM additionally, www.skyauction.com has auctions ending every day for a few different restaurants in las vegas. i purchased $400 of certs for envy steakhouse which has some great reviews. and unlike restaurant.com, these are actual gift certificates and have no minimum purchase limitations.
Audrieu 08-23-2009, 09:12 AM It work like a treat in little buddha. Actually as soon as I said gift certificate the server was like "oh $25 dollars from resturants.com"

MelbaToast86 08-23-2009, 11:51 AM Also until 9/01/09 They have 50% off cert's. Not nearly as good as 80% especially on the higher amounts but decent. If interested just enter the code: All

i don't feel like buying any coupons from restaurant.com after reading this report...
i was hoping they would accept paypal or something of that nature, but i really don't like the idea of giving them all my personal information (name, address, phone number), then my credit card info following that.
MelbaToast86 09-03-2009, 01:07 AM I would really consider using them if I were you, I am a multiple repeat customer with no complaints whatsoever
