So I've come to realize that this is a forum about Las Vegas and we have pretty much everything here except for a section on gaming. What do you think? Any chance we can get a section in to discuss blackjack, craps or poker?!? Thanks!

Im not really a poker fan. My favorite game is craps, but i play blackjack, Pai Gow, and roulette too. I spend most of my time on blackjack.

If you dont know how to play Pai Gow you should learn. Its an awesome game that moves slow so you just get wrecked on free drinks. It my pre-drinking game :) You basically push with the dealer 75% of the time.

At one point I had learned pretty much every game but then I forgot which one was what and all that. So I usually stick to the ones that i know. But to add to that I kinda have an idea of how you play most games

hahahahaha its so true. They deal you the cards, and i lay them out on the table and do what i want and dealer looks at them and if im wrong they say why would you do that? and they fix them for me and go from there. Nothing is better, lol.

Pai Gow is very easy. Its a form of Poker. Heres a quick explanation:

You get dealt 7 cards. Out of those 7 cards you make the best 2 card hand and the best 5 card hand you can make. You put them down in the 2 positions, the dealer does the exact same thing. Both of your hands have to beat both of the dealers hands for you to win, and vice versa for you to lose. If each of you wins 1 (which happens 75% of the time) you push and go to the next deal.

I would say yes to the gaming section, but considering less than 100 people have looked at this thread, i'm not sure it is necessary.

On a side note, I think it would be nice to break out the Las Vegas "Nightlife / Daylife" section. This way, people could go directly to Daylife for pool info and Nightlife for club info.

I really like this idea, but the pool questions will die down after Sept. We will probably split them before next season. It will be easier to do then too. Right now would be a lot of work, and it would force me to ask for a raise. :D

The giant wheel is the worst thing in any casino. I think people just play it once or twice a trip for the novelty of doing it. I think everyone like to spin a big wheel, they just dont care what their spending to do it, lol. Makes them feel like their on the Price is Right, but the Price is Wrong bitch!

Go to O'sheas and play the $5 tables right by the tattoo place in front. That's my favorite cheap spot to play blackjack.

I was actually trying to figure out a way to expense my mileage out there... hopefully they let it slide and take care of me... if not then I'm gonna write it off at the end of the year!

I hear on the tables in AC - I think the cheapest option might be the Trump Marina, but I refuse to go in because of how depressing it is to see all the old people pour out their savings on the slots while hooked up to oxygen tanks... Ugh, the stench of death permeates throughout that place.

This is why i dont go to AC. We have some Indian Casinos here in South Florida and its much better to just watch them take everyones money because the Indians down here are already wealthy as hell. The rich get richer.

nice! We had another member that also played cards for a living, I think he was out on the 5th day from the main event.

Yeah one of my buddies from college also plays poker for a living. He is on the World Poker Tour and plays in the WSOP every year. They also fly him around the world just to play Poker.

I think it's a really good idea, actually. It could help some of the inexperienced get comfortable with rules, and playing in general. Who's got the best casino for beginners, experts, etc.

You know, you would think that but then I just don't know. I couldn't sit inside asmoky casino all day playing cards. I mean I can do it on vacation, but not for a living. I'd feel trapped.

If I could build up a solid bankroll I think I'd be able to. I used to play a ton when I had the time. Now my schedule doesn't let me. But my goal is to build my bankroll and give the series a try next year!

Try those smaller tournaments first, probably 500-2000 buy in, many of them in Vegas. WSOP is not really worth it especially with the limited bankroll and lack of experience in big event.

That's how I was planning on starting... some of the events they have over at Harrahs out here.
