View Full Version : Place to watch Football
Cisco419 08-03-2009, 04:35 PM So I'm going to Vegas over LDW as many of you know and I just noticed that there's gonna be a Charger preseason game that weekend on Friday. My question is what would be a good spot to check out the game? I'm going to be at Ditch all day and were hitting up Palms clubs that night so luckily the game is at 7 and we can pick up the wristbands by 1 AM.
I'm leaning towards Blondies since I've heard its a kick ass spot in general. How bout Carnival court? Do they play games? Also were going to be staying at Flamingo so were pretty much at the center of the strip. Thanks for the help!
nyc2vegas 08-03-2009, 04:53 PM either blondies or mcfaddens at rio then you can just walk across the street afterwards

Well, there the ESPN Sportszone @ NYNY and the Brew Pub @ Monte Carlo. Personally, I like just going to Ceasar's sports book to watch the games. Nothing better than to watch people get pissed or cheer cause the total score hit/miss their over/under bet!
nyc2vegas 08-03-2009, 04:57 PM the espn zone is such a pain in the ass and if you get a table they rush you out ive made the mistake of going there for a few events and it was a mistake....im with ya blibblab I like the sports books, mgm is another one or even the bar in the palms right outside the sportsbook will be ok

That could work but I think it'll just be my bro and me cause the chics could care less about the game and the other guy is a fader fan. But we might just have them meet us there!
Cisco419 08-03-2009, 07:23 PM I went on the Blondies site and their happy hour seems to kick ass, all you can drink well drinks and beer between 4 and 6. Not a bad deal!
BarrelO 08-04-2009, 04:48 PM I was kind of wondering about this as well since I was planning a trip for September 17-21, in the middle of football season. I was thinking either ESPN Sportszone or Pour 24. Luckily, the Dolphins play on MNF that week, so it isn't as big a deal.
Cisco419 08-04-2009, 05:16 PM I think that's the second week of the actual season
Audrieu 08-09-2009, 07:20 PM Me and buddy from work had this probelm last year, flew in on monday hit the hotel around 4pm, couldnt find a good spot at all to watch the match for about hour and thirty minutes. EPSN Zone was half closed down for a private party the part we could see had baseball on the big screen...
The trips after that we usually just end up at the island bar in the palms... at we could see the TV and get the rounds in a decent speed
mojo1108 08-10-2009, 08:38 AM I second the Caesars Sportsbook.. its the most fun place to watch sports around
DaveA 08-12-2009, 10:56 PM I gotta go with Mandalay Bay - top-notch sports book and its always been lively during NFL games there. Another place I like which is much, much smaller but if you're in the mood to gamble during the game is Harrah's. Small sports book but table games and a nice bar with video poker right in the sports book. Plus you've got the great oyster bar right nearby for good eats.
don.paulie 08-13-2009, 03:14 AM What's the best place to watch the English Premier League?
My guess is an English or Irish pub but I know they show live games on ESPN in the US so maybe they'll show it in a US sports bar?
rock28 08-13-2009, 04:07 AM Honestly its the preseason and the last game right before the season kicks off. The starters will only play for 1 series, the backups for maybe 2, then its the 3rd team the rest of the way. I say go back to your room and get ready for the night and hopefully the game will be on in your room.
NFL preseason is such a joke, its a shame they make fans pay for these games.

I just think mandalay has seen better days, its old now and the crowd has really dwindled to hookers and pimps and the company is on the verge of bankruptcy

DaveA 08-13-2009, 11:01 PM Wow, really. It's been a few years since I was there during NFL season. Good to know, though as it'll save me the trek over there this fall if that's the case. Too bad because I really liked Mandalay's set-up.
rnjbond 08-31-2009, 10:05 AM LDW is also the kick-off of college football.
Caesar's on Saturday sounds awesome for that. Bet on five or six games, watch them all at once...
blibblab 08-31-2009, 03:07 PM Hrm... I may want to check out http://www.palazzolasvegas.com/lagasse.aspx at the Palazzo [used to be the 40/40 Club] for football/lunch for College Football Saturdays:

rnjbond 08-31-2009, 03:53 PM That sounds really good, actually.
Plus Palazzo is right next to Venetian.
AK2Vegas 08-31-2009, 11:26 PM I'm there! NICE!
Audrieu 09-13-2009, 12:07 AM Hows Hawaiian Tropic for MNF? Or the planet hollywood sports book? We got one of those $50 gift certs for HT so it looks like we will be hitting it up for dinner. The group from work is thinking of grabbing tickets for peepshow which is at PH so hanging around there is likley. But good viewing is important!
nyc2vegas 09-13-2009, 08:06 AM havent been but since you have the gift card why not? the one in nyc sucked bad, but the one at ph is right next to the bookthere so might be decent
Audrieu 09-13-2009, 02:09 PM I will live in hope. Beer, Football, girls in biniki's and food what can been bad about it.... heres hoping
luckythirteen 09-17-2009, 09:09 PM anyone ever been here? i heard it is really nice.......

Doubtful since I commented on it just a couple posts ago in this thread and no one commented on it... And it's only been open a week, it seems. Steep entry price, though you do get quality food (on paper)
blibblab 09-18-2009, 03:43 PM I could not imagine them wanting more than 20-25 bucks to get in? Is it steeper than that?
I've read that during game times, you have to have a minimum food/beverage purchase of $50 per person. I guess in retrospect, that's not that bad if you're having drinks and snacks... but it's free (sans snacks/drinks) over in Caesar's Palace sportsbook to sit.
There's already one review on yelp (http://www.yelp.com/biz/lagasses-stadium-las-vegas) that was sort of positive.
ChappStick 09-22-2009, 05:18 AM I saw this http://www.palazzolasvegas.com/lagasse.aspx and thought do I really wanna watch football in a room with PURPLE lights? Can we get someone to go check this place and give a SB Report? Cheers!!!
lakers fans?
Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :D

Maybe Vikings fans? Or Northwestern fans? Certainly a niche market trying to cover! (They should make it blue & white... Or green & silver)
i think im might try and hit up blondies or the MGM sportsbook to watch the Texas vs. Oklahoma game. And the premiere leauge question was awhile ago, but blondies advertises on their site that they show most all English premier league matches
