Sure, it's the East Coast's low, low, low rent version of Las Vegas, but anyone have any stories? Asking only cause I'm in the Borgota now, waiting for me grub to come!

Never been, but would like to go. From your description, it reminds me of Reno maybe? I did a solo trip to Reno and think i'm going back soon. I keep getting 2 night free comps in the mail.

The only time i've been to the East Coast (like many other places in the world) has been on a layover at LaGuardia. I'm going to have to put that on the "to do" list.

Ive been there plenty of times. Mostly just to gamble though or for bachelor partys at the strip clubs.

Yeah, the parking situation is awful - Cesaer's Palace charges $20 for guests, Trop $10, some places only $5... But why does AC charge when most [if not all] major casinos in Vegas don't charge at all? It's cost prohibitive!

But the Borgota's really nice - mur.mur and Mixx are pretty decent clubs.

because theres no competition they can do whatever they want!! trump owns a bucnh of the casinos and harrahs owns the rest so if they want to rape you they can, and if you park your car on the street it will get stolen, you can get a drink for your life when youre gambling, even whe you order one the waitress never comes back. Vegas has so may different owners, and interests that they try to set themselves apart by offering a perk forcing everyone to follow eg. free parking, if you could park for free at wynn and you have to pay everywhere else everyone will go to wynn, so noone will charge for parking then you could take loose slots, if a hotel has a reputation for looser than normal slots more people will visit etc. if 2 corps own all the hotels its easy to collude and set prices(for parking food table mins, room prices etc) and not have loose slots and bot companies can win.....the reason why borgata is doing well is because they purposely built away from the strip as to not have to get caught up in the collusion

i live like an hour and a half away from AC, so i tend to go like once a month. used to go to gamble (tropicana & trump taj) but the experience just isnt the same anymore. a lot of these casinos have been hit very hard by the recession, as you rarely see the crowds that you used to.

The only casino that really is still excelling is the borgata, and as stated, it is a solid mile off the main strip of older hotel casinos. on a weekened at the borgata, it is still nearly impossible to get a seat at a low-limit table..

In relation to the nightclubs, last few years has been owned by mur.mur and mixx (both at borgata).. murmur plays the open-format music (hip hop, house, top 40) , and mixx plays the house, trance & techno mostly. but they attract the greatest crowds and DJ's. (tiesto, eric morillo, DJ am, DJ vice, carl cox) i have been to both clubs numerous times and have always enjoyed the crowds. its much less snobby than upper level NYC clubs in my opinion.

yeah well the borgata really has the vegas feel to it, between the nightclubs and restaurants and gambling you really dont have to leave the place, and the less snobby stuff is dead on, nyc clubs are just ridiculous and to be honest most of em are very overrated and the staff is full of douches

you are absolutely right about that vegas feel (although i dont know what vegas feels like jsut yet)

nyc clubs though are so pretentious. they dont want guys to come in, they push bottle services and the clubs are small. the bouncers are complete douches.
