The part that was shocking to me, is his friends telling him to stop, its over. The thug just made a serious treat on his life. This wasnt some school yard fight. How do they know he didnt have another gun, or knife on him?

I would just be concerned that the thug might come back a second time but won't be so generous with time and space..... :/

Living in Inglewood, I use to see this stuff all the time. It's changed dramatically and is no longer that way, but my friends and I use to get hit up all the time. I hate assholes like that. No kind of balls. This was your typical conversation which I never understood;

Thug: Where you guys from?
Us: No where.

I can thankfully say I've never had to deal with gang violence personally *knock on wood*... although there has been a definite rise in gang related crime in our neighbourhood :( Every week it seems at least one person is getting shot... (I know this is probably quite small when compared to some areas of the world but the increase is troubling still).

I grew up with this shit too! I had a lot of friends and family that got into the whole gang thing, fuck that!

Since were on the thug subject; the funniest things my brother or me have ever encountered is the little white kids in the burb's trying to act all hard. One day 2 kids at some Vons came up to my bro and me all hard sayin,"What set you claim?!?" trying to sound all tough and thuggish so we had some fun with them. Pretty much put them in there place big time!!! They were like,"Bro were sorry, we were just joking around man..." it was pretty hilarious!!! My bro is a tall built dude and well I'm mexican with tattoos so I do tend to look a bit thuggish from time to time :D

I've even had to deal with it in little ol Fond du Lac, WI. A couple friends got jumped and beat up by a group of thugs with baseball bats. Broke noses, dislocated one's jaw, busted the windows out of the car. Most of them were just wannabee's, but there were a few guys who'd come up from Milwaukee to sell or recruit. Wow, I haven't thought about that in like, 10 years.

I really hate guns...I'm not against the 4th amendment, but they just creep me the hell out. We were at pizza hut saturday picking up and this guy walks in (white dude, wife beater, looked like a skater guy) with a holster and gun. I got really freaked out. DH was like, it's AZ you can carry concealed here, but it just unnerved me to see it in person at a restaurant. Like, why are you packing heat to go to a pizza hut?
I don't know...I go back and forth, like my DH;s dad wants to give him a hand gun and I'd go through the training and all, but still they are just so violent.
