Hrm... lately I've been on a Killswitch Engage kick [they're playing in Vegas the week after I'm there... blah], some Mastodon, Josh Ritter, MSTRKRFT, Jimmy Cliff, Major Lazer... So, yeah, not all "new", but it's what I'm listening to!

I listen to old stuff, it may not suit your tastes. The Clash, Van Halen, The Cure, Operation Ivy, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith. Old skool does it best you know.

For those fans of electronic music and follow Deep Dish, Sharam just put out a couple of tracks that are pretty dope:

Sharam feat. Kid Cudi "She Came Along" and "Sweat" feat Tommy Lee ... go check it out.

In terms of hip hop ... a lot of the Wu-Tang like U-God and the Wu just put out some LP's that have been in rotation on my iPhone. Check out Tanya Morgan if you want to listen to some hip hop that isn't mainstream ... good damn group.

Been into the rock kick recently - Alice in Chains, Sevendust, Pantera, King's X, Queens of the Stone Age, Rise Against, Pro-Pain, Machine Head. I think my music senses need a huge purging of the pop/rap/house since Vegas

HUGE NERD ALERT: When I was in elementary school, I wrote a rap to the tune of Ice Ice Baby that consisted of the Latin names of various animals. Yeah.....yeah.

Anyway, if you don't think that "All Nightmare Long" by Metallica is awesome, you're probably my enemy. Also, I'll probably have to turn in my guy card for this, but I've been listening to a fair amount of Tori Amos lately.

I wish I could. It has long since been lost to the winds of time. I remember using the Latin names of the ostrich, the chimpanzee, the red fox, and a bunch of other animals. It was mostly mammals.

My two favorite recent albums have been Tanya Morgan's "Brooklynati" (probably best hip hop album I've heard this year along with Mos Def's "The Estatic"); and Alice in Chains' "Black Gives Way to Blue", which takes me back to grade school when I first heard AiC (still amazing despite missing the soul of the band).

And now for some Castlevania-themed music.

1. What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse by The Black Dahlia Murder. The band is kind of shitty overall, but this song's pretty good.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEACzoMJuMA

2. Bloody Tears by Army of the Pharaohs. It's a side project by the guy from Jedi Mind Tricks. I wish they'd chill with the homophobia, but it's a pretty tight track.

My bro's way more into hip hop than me, I like everything except that country shit. I usually listen to more chill music along with more rock but I throw some hip hop and rap in there a lot. Atmosphere is really awesome! So is Brother Ali, Living Legends, Army of Pharoahs and I really like Immortal Technique, he gets down!!!

Pink Floyd will always be my fave, but turned into an electronica fan a few yr's ago. Crystal Method is great, but also love Moby, Fatboy Slim, Felix da Housecat, Chemical Brothers. I use to like Lady GAGA (or should I say Guy GAGA) but if I here Paparazzi one more time I just might pull out my hair.

I've been searching for Vegas songs (doesn't necessarily have to be Vegas themed).

I just want to compile the best songs that sound like Vegas and give the mood of Vegas (if that makes any sense). It can be old, new, whatever.

For example,

Frank Sinatra - Luck be a lady tonight
