View Full Version : Social House Closing!! :( mojo1108 07-02-2009, 03:54 PM I just heard Social House is closing after Sunday!!! I'm crushed.. Damn new TI owners!!!!! IRockNvegas 07-02-2009, 03:57 PM thats funny, guess I wasnt the only one who thought it was overpriced sushi mojo1108 07-02-2009, 04:01 PM Well, they are relocation to somewhere else on the strip.. Looks like the new TI owners are looking to make the resort more "wallet friendly".. Christian Audigier will likely close as well.. Meghuney 07-02-2009, 08:06 PM Man, I'm sorry for YOUR loss...but I thought the sushi there was awful. The place did have a nice look and feel to it though. mojo1108 07-02-2009, 08:28 PM I like the hot dishes... nyc2vegas 07-03-2009, 07:56 AM I did omakase there one night and I thought it was unbelievable, then again it was my 3rd night out there so I wasnt in tip top shape mojo1108 07-03-2009, 08:42 AM Anyone hear rumours of where their new location will be? nyc2vegas 07-03-2009, 08:48 AM spearmint rhino is what I heard yo vanilla 07-03-2009, 08:52 AM You know, when I stayed at TI last month I didn't really notice Social House all that full. Of course I could say the same for about every restaurant I ate at or passed by. Whatever their motive are, trying to be wallet-friendly or otherwise I can't blame them if the place isn't bringing in revenue. Same with CA (not to mention the theme was a loser to begin with). Since I've stayed there twice I hope for their sakes they choose replacements carefully - it's not a bad place overall, but TI's 2 steps away from becoming the Excaliber of that end of the strip... nyc2vegas 07-03-2009, 09:01 AM but TI's 2 steps away from becoming the Excaliber of that end of the strip... ouch thats harsh. I stayed at TI about 18-24 months ago and I enjoyed it. is it going downhill that fast? wow the only thing I could think of it that mgm stopped paying attn to it before they sold it mojo1108 07-03-2009, 09:17 AM Well, Vegas is suffering as a whole due to the bad economy.. LAX shutting down Thu nights.. nassau 07-03-2009, 09:31 AM mojo i dont know if you got my twitter message but im going to start calling you DATA..you are so informed. i think when everyone makes the final call they call you to drop the news..lol or maybe im just out of the loop..t mojo1108 07-03-2009, 09:52 AM lol.. sorry, I didnt see your twitter message.. can you tell its been dead at work? haha nassau 07-03-2009, 10:26 AM wth?? you are doing all of this while you are at work?? can we say multi-tasker?? you are a monster!! yo vanilla 07-03-2009, 10:49 AM ouch thats harsh. I stayed at TI about 18-24 months ago and I enjoyed it. is it going downhill that fast? wow the only thing I could think of it that mgm stopped paying attn to it before they sold it i didn't mean to be too harsh. i mean, i stayed there twice within two years after all. but if they're going to purge their best restaurant and their club and start working toward the cheap end of the lot, c'mon what else can we say? dnix 07-03-2009, 10:56 AM spearmint rhino is what I heard They have enough raw fish as it is. :) nassau 07-03-2009, 11:07 AM that's pretty nasty dnix..but funny.. nyc2vegas 07-03-2009, 12:58 PM I was waiting for someone to hit the softball mojo1108 07-03-2009, 01:12 PM i didn't mean to be too harsh. i mean, i stayed there twice within two years after all. but if they're going to purge their best restaurant and their club and start working toward the cheap end of the lot, c'mon what else can we say? I totally agree.. You're surrounded by Wynn, Mirage, Caesars, Venetien, Palazzo and Encore and you're trying to get rid of your two biggest attractions.. Not a smart move.. yo vanilla 07-03-2009, 01:56 PM Or, considering the surrounding competition, it might actually be a smart move. Right now TI is only a little bit cheaper to stay at than everything on that corner. What's the incentive to go to TI if Mirage and Palazzo are just a wee bit more? It may actually be a good business move. The facility is nice, all the rooms are remodled well. It could turn into a great budget resort for that end of the strip. mojo1108 07-03-2009, 05:15 PM You can have affordable rooms but still have one hot restaurant and club that the stushier crowd would go to.. best of both worlds.. don't get them to sleep there, at least get them to eat and drink there.. yo vanilla 07-04-2009, 09:18 AM I see your point. But there could be other, or hidden costs we don't see in keeping higher-profile businesses (if this is their plan, to go cheaper). Guess we will have to wait and see! |
