Okay, so this isn't going to have pictures or be all that long, but definitely figured I should post one anyway.

So a quick recap:

When I was over in Iraq I bought a new car, an Audi A6, but I bought it at a dealership in Colorado in the town my best friend lives in. So it has been parked at his house since January, waiting for me to come pick it up.

So last Wednesday me and two of my buddies(Jordon and Josh) flew out to Denver, drove down to Boulder, and partied there until Saturday night, when my best friend(Pat).

Boulder is actually a pretty awesome place to party, even when school is out. Definitely a good mix of dive bars, normal bars, Irish bars, and more upscale clubs/lounges. Pretty awesome crowd was out and about, even on like.. Weds/Thurs.

Also managed to hit up the Coors Brewery up in Golden. They don't have tour guides anymore, just audio tours, so you can pretty much skip the tour and go straight to your three free beers. Pretty rad, really.

In the three nights we were there we more or less managed to wreck the Marriott we were in. I actually had to do some major wood working on a bed room that broke when I swan dove on to it. Sad day in the neighborhood. We did go through 3 30-packs of beer and 3 handles though, so it was a good few days.

We also caught a Rise Against concert. Well, the other guys did, but I was laid low in my room because of some food poisoning issues.

OKAY SO SUNDAY JUNE 14TH

We finally pull into Vegas around 10 or so AM, get to the Flamingo, ask if we can check in early and slip them a $20. Guy gives the $20 back, because he can't get us all that great of an upgrade, but we do get an upper floor strip view room, so that's not all that bad. We weren't going to be in the room much anyway, but having a Strip View is always nice for pre-drinking in the room.

Sunday we more or less spent the whole day gambling and stuff, a friend of mine from Louisiana was in town so I spent some time with her, unfortunately she was only 19 so she couldn't come out and party, too bad because she's one of the national Hawaiian Tropics girls.

Anyway, Sunday night finally rolls in and we manage to completely oversleep. I had planned on trying to meet up with JC, Dnix, etc, at Carmel/Bank, but by the time we got up and out of the hotel it was already close to Midnight, and Jack had been pretty clear about timelines, so I didn't want to bother him with having to come get us in or anything.

I had guestlisted as at Moon/Playboy just as a precaution, in case something like this happened, so we went over there, used some free admit passes, so we managed to skip the line and not pay a cover, which was nice.

I pretty much love Moon and PBC, so we had a pretty awesome night. It was some DJ's birthday so they had guest DJ's all night and there were a ton of porn stars there and stuff. They were also filming an episode of MTV's Tru-Life, talked to the producer for a bit, seemed like a really chill guy who was actually kind of annoyed at how much the camera crew and the guys they were following were impacting the guests.

At one point the camera guy more or less tried to hockey check me into a rail(check Dnix's thread for a pic of me, I'm not exactly a tiny little guy) and the producer went off on him about being a dickhead. Pretty rad.

Anyway, a group of girls had a table there, so they invited us to sit down, had a good time with them, pretty fun girls from L.A.

So anyway, around 3AM I'm getting bored at Moon, so I text JC hoping they are still out doing something. YUP, they're rocking out at Body English, so we pop downstairs, grab a Limo, because the cab line is like 45 minutes and head to the HRH.

Jack comes out of the club to let us in because they've actually closed it to new admissions at this point. The bouncers are cool and let us by, although they play like they aren't going to until they saw our Marine ID's and were like "Dude you gotta let 'em in, they're Marines", haha.

Anyway, got downstairs into Body English and Jack and Dnix were, of course, partying it up in the VIP room. Popped in there, bought a round of Long Islands to start things off. At this point things start to get blurry, then I bought a round of Trashcans

Alaskan Trashcan= Gin, Rum, Vodka, Triple Sec, Blue Curacao and Red Bull

And that's when I time traveled to Monday morning.

Jack and Dnix were definitely rad guys, wish I'd have made it out early to hang with Dnix more. We grabbed a couple photos, so that was tight.

MONDAY JUNE 15TH

I wake up Monday morning, having time traveled forward, and me and the guys definitely decide that some Hooters wings are in order. So we manage the stumble down the strip, stopping to get some sort of alcohol slurpee at the Fat Tuesdays in Planet Hollywood, and make it to Hooters.

I eat the absolute worst Hooters of my life, which ruined my day a couple times in the mad dashes to the fucking bathrooms, and really regretted this decision. Horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE, Hooters. Don't go.

I need to go cash in my winning tickets from the Lakers game, took the Lakers and the under, so I won on both counts, so we head back to the 'mingo, and cash in the tickets, hit the pool for a bit, play some Craps, etc.

Jack texts me to make sure we're coming out, etc, which I thought was awesome of him.

The rest of the day is pretty boring so we'll skip to Monday night.

It's about 10:00 and Jack had said to be at HeartBar in PH at 11pm sharp, we we wandered over to PH and grabbed some sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich, which were awesome on every level. Definitely great to pre-game on. Wandered over the Pleasure Pit and played some Roulette until jack showed up.

Jack got there, introduced him to the two of my friends that weren't at Body English the night before(they had found a couple of girls and broke into the Palms pool at like 3am and went hot tubbing in their club clothes, hahaha). Met a bunch of the guys we'd be drinking with that night, definitely a very interesting and chill crowd, mostly HRH employees it seemed. Just a great group of people to be around, good energy, and yeah, I was pretty stoked.

So about 11:20/11:30 Jack throws up the "let's go" sign and we all(like seriously 40-60 people) start walking in this amazing rock star conga line up to the back entrance to Prive and up the escalators. I've never been to Prive before, but it became one of my favorites based purely on the entrance elevators, and "Good Life" was definitely playing while we went up, hahaha.

Anyway, we get to the tables and it's literally right on the dance floor, so we started unhooking ropes and moving around pedestals and stuff to make enough room for our massive group, it was pretty awesome. Me and my friends were down on one table with some Jack and some of the other folks, and that point is when the goose and jack daniels start flowing.

Prive was just a really, really, great time. The table was awesome, the people were awesome, and everyone was just having a good time. Everyone bounced at around 2:30 or so, so we did the same, my friends pretty much all crashed out and I left to play Poker until around 7:30am, when I forced everyone to wake up for the drive back to San Francisco.

Yeah, didn't work out that well, because we ended up stopping and sleeping at an exit because even though I'd taken it easy on drinking, I hadn't slept, hahaha.

But yeah, it was a great trip and I had a blast for a Sunday/Monday. Pretty excited to get back there 4th of July weekend, even if it will be with the fiance.

Hope this was remotely interesting to read!

Oh shit, forget to mention, we drove back the long way, up the coast, and we totally almost crashed into Colin Farrell in Malibu, as well as seeing the main character from The O.C., lol

Nice trip report AK...sounds like an awesome, wild time. You guys sound like a fun group!

I am not surprised about hooters though...we stopped in there last MDW to find some cheap craps. My friend went to the men's room where there were two stalls-it was an emergency situation for him-and both had passed out pp with vomit all over them. He was freaking out b/c we had to bolt back over to MGM. Overall, the casino was just so trashy and I didn't even think the dealers/waitresses were even good looking, which is the point I thought!

If you have some pics throw them up here!

Sounds like a good trip I gotta try one of those trashcans when I get out to Vegas. Boulder is defenitely a pretty cool place to go out and get drinks on the weekdays. If your ever back in Colorado you gotta hit up Lodos bar and grill in downtown Denver its a fun place on the weekends.

Yeah, Hooters hotel/casino is pretty shitty, I actually stayed there one night last summer because I got into Vegas a day early, well, really midnight the night before, and I just wanted a place with a bed to sleep.

Turns out it didn't just have a bed, it had cockroaches to go with it.

I didn't think the wings would be bad though. OH WELL!

Yeah, you'll have to teach them how to make the trashcan, it's not a widely known drink outside Alaska, and I always have to teach the bartenders what's in it.

Boulders was a blast, Denver I was in last summer and ended up getting in two fights in two nights, so I'm never drinking there again, too many wannabe tough guys that see a guy my size as a way to prove themselves.

Yeah it sucks because one of my best friends works for the Hooters marketing agency. She has known the guys who started Hooters her whole life (its her dads best friends), way before they ever had the idea. When they were first starting up Hooters they asked my friends dad if he wanted to partner up with them and open these restaurants. He goes, no thats the stupidest idea ive ever heard. well he missed that boat hahaha.

Anyway when they were discussing the hotel acquisition i tried telling them what they were doing was dumb. They just bought the old San Remo hotel and put the Hooters logo on it and threw in a bunch of Hooters girls inside. Its crappy. If your gonna build a hotel in Vegas you either do it right and knock it down and build your own, or you dont do it at all.

Go big or go home.

uh oh did we just come across a slogan for the t-shirts?

Definitely. Bright fucking Neon, with JackColton.com on the collar thing in the back, "Go big or Go Home" on the front with like a JC initial or something so it's not super obvious what it is

Pretty much. It was so dumb dude. I'd rather be out drinking, not having to get in dumbass fights because some dude has small dick syndrome.
